To do this, the polyurethane jacket must be turned inside out, placed on hangers, zippers are fastened, the sleeves are stuffed and steamed at a distance of 15-20 cm. Then, without turning it inside out, the jacket is sent to dry in a warm, ventilated room away from heating devices. However, drafts should also not be allowed. Leatherette does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature and can become deformed.

If it is not possible to use a steam generator or an iron with a vertical steam function, you can try straightening the jacket using a spray bottle. To do this, the product is also turned inside out, hung on hangers and warm water is sprayed evenly. Then straighten the folds with wet hands, spray again and leave to dry.

An equally effective method is to use a solution consisting of laundry softener, water and vinegar. To do this, all three components are mixed in equal parts, poured into a spray bottle and sprayed onto the wrinkled part of the jacket from the front side. Next, leave the product for one hour, after which the resulting stains are removed with a wet cloth.

For minor creases and folds, you can also do without a steamer and use glycerin. To do this, clean cotton cloth is moistened in a glycerin solution and the wrinkled areas are treated. If necessary, the procedure is carried out several times, after which the products are placed on hangers to dry.

Genuine Leather

Genuine leather jackets have not gone out of fashion for many years. However, in order for the leather not to lose its performance and decorative properties for a long time, it must be properly ironed. To do this, you should first inspect the item and remove any dirt from its surface. Then you need to set the iron to the minimum temperature setting, corresponding to the inscription “silk” or one dot.

Next, you need to lay out the product on the ironing board and spread a thick paper sheet or a clean, slightly moistened cloth without a clearly defined texture on top. It is necessary to iron only the wrinkled areas, without pressing on the iron and without staying in one place for more than 1-2 seconds. This smoothing method is suitable for jackets without embossed images or embossing. Such products are smoothed in a steam bath or lubricated with glycerin, vaseline, castor or nut oils and hung on hangers. As a rule, after a few hours the skin straightens under its own weight and begins to look like new.

Storage conditions

Considering certain difficulties with ironing outerwear, it will be much easier to learn how to store it correctly. This will subsequently either completely eliminate the hassle of ironing things, or reduce them to a minimum. So, regardless of the period, the jacket should be stored only on wide wooden hangers. A thin metal hanger model will not work in this case. For long-term storage, all zippers and buttons must be fastened, and rolled up towels must be placed in the sleeves.
