DIY Christmas tree carnival costume. How to sew a beautiful Christmas tree costume for a girl for the New Year: outfit ideas and ways to sew them

Making a Christmas tree costume.

The New Year is approaching, and with it matinees in kindergarten. Let's find out how to sew a Christmas tree costume for a little child.

DIY tulle Christmas tree costume for a girl for the New Year: master class

For New Year's holidays and matinees, you can sew a Christmas tree costume for a girl. To make it, you do not need any sewing skills or experience. For this you will need almost any material.

The most important thing about this costume is the beautiful dress and the green color. You can decorate such a festive outfit with anything, for example, sparkles, New Year's tinsel, beads, snowflakes, or embroidery.

If you want to make a Christmas tree costume for your own daughter, you will need to take the following materials:

  • Green tint satin (approximately 1.5 m)
  • Light green tulle (length approximately 0.5 m)
  • Gold ribbon (approximately 0.5 cm)
  • Threads
  • Adhesive tape
  • Strong glue

Start with a paper pattern for the back. However, before starting work, take your daughter’s measurements. You will need a length such that the resulting product reaches your knees.

When you make a pattern, do not forget about the line along which you will sew in the flounce. So, let's get to work:

  • Make a paper pattern for the front of the dress. You can use a simple pattern for the base. After this, draw the fourth part of the shuttlecock on a separate paper.
  • Then cut out the main patterns from paper and attach them to the material, folded in half. Secure the patterns with pins.
  • Using a special pencil, draw the outline of each pattern on the back of the material. Mark the center front of the dress and hand stitch on the back. These will become the lines to which you will sew the flounces. Using the same method, mark a line on the back.
  • Fold the edges of the parts inward and grind the seams using a sewing machine. Finish the cuts with an overlocker.
  • Baste the back seam and press it to the sides.
Draw the entire shuttlecock on paper, using the fourth part of the shuttlecock drawn in advance.
  • Attach the paper pattern to the material (in one layer) and draw the outline of the dress flounce on the material. Prepare a couple more shuttlecocks in the same way.
  • Fold the flounces face down, sew them together, and finish the edges with an overlocker. Glue adhesive tape to the bottom of each shuttlecock.
  • Then fold the edges inward and iron along the edges. This will secure the ribbon.
  • Now you can start making the tulle frill. Fold the tulle in half, cut a strip, the width of which should be 20 cm.
  • Use a sewing machine to make a couple of lines on the material and pull them together at the same time. This will give you a frill. Remember that the length of the tulle gather should be equal to the width of the front.
  • Sweep the resulting tulle frill onto the bodice and go through it with a machine.
  • Baste the flounce along the top of the bodice and machine stitch the edge. Proceed to the bottom of the dress.
  • Sew a couple more flounces to the pre-prepared edge, fasten on top in the same way as described above.
  • Decorate your suit with sequins. Glue them with strong glue or special double-sided tape. Very carefully fasten a gold-colored ribbon along the edge of the flounces.

Christmas tree costume for a girl with a fluffy tutu skirt: patterns for girls 3 – 6 years old

Today we will share with you a good idea - together we will make a Christmas tree costume with a tutu skirt. The costume is quite easy to make and will not take much of your time. Also check out the interesting ideas in this.

As a rule, tutu skirts do not need to be sewn and patterns are not needed for them. To make such a skirt, you will need to take:

  • Green tulle. American nylon is considered ideal for such a skirt. It is very soft, suitable even for the little ones, and holds its shape perfectly.
  • Mostly, rolls with a width of about 20 cm are available for sale. This is convenient, because you will not need to cut the material. If you cannot find such fabric, then buy the most ordinary tulle or mesh.
  • Wide elastic band. Take the length of the elastic so that you still have about 3 cm left.
  • A satin ribbon for making a bow and a belt.
  • Scissors.

All. We have prepared the necessary elements, now we begin to create:

  • Cut the tulle into strips. For babies, you need to cut strips 15x50 cm. Cut strips from 40 to 60 pieces.
  • You can use tulle of various shades. It all depends on your desire and imagination.
  • Sew the elastic band into a circle, or tie it in a knot. Stretch the elastic so that it is convenient for you to tie tulle ribbons on it, for example, on the back of a chair.
  • Take the tulle strips by the center and tie it to an elastic band using a double knot. If you want the skirt to be fuller, tie a loop knot. Make sure that the knot does not overtighten the elastic, but does not dangle either.
  • Tie the knots together tightly enough so that the elastic is not visible. Do this all around the circle.
  • If necessary, you can trim the skirt: squeeze the ends of the material tightly in your hand and cut off the uneven ends.
  • Decorate the waistband of the skirt with a green satin ribbon. You can also decorate the skirt with bows or tinsel.
  • Straighten your skirt.
  • The main element of the Christmas tree costume is ready. To complete it, you will need to take a white or green T-shirt and decorate it as you wish. Then sew the skirt to the T-shirt.

  • An excellent option for a Christmas tree cape is a model made from an ordinary circle. Take any material, preferably one that drapes well and measures 140x140 cm.
  • Fold the material in half. Cut out the circle. Then make a hole for the head. Cut at the front so that the cape fits comfortably. • Secure the bag onto the cylinder to prevent the base from sticking to the crown.
  • Lay out the lace on the table. Gently spread the glue onto it with a brush. Better a couple of layers.
  • Then secure the lace to the cardboard wrapped in a bag. Try to smooth out every wrinkle.
  • Carefully coat the places where the crown will connect.
  • Cover the crown with glue again. Wait a bit for the product to dry thoroughly.
  • Once the crown is dry, remove it.
  • Now start transforming the crown. If you have white lace, then cover it with green paint. You can purchase multi-colored pebbles in advance and paste them over the crown. You can also glue tinsel, sparkles, and small snowflakes onto the product.

Makeup for a Christmas tree costume or Ideas for face painting

Do you want your daughter to wear makeup? Draw a Christmas tree on the cheek, just a green twig. The makeup is restrained and only slightly emphasizes childish beauty and naturalness.

These are the simple and easy methods that mothers make for Christmas tree costumes. We wish you good luck and inspiration, so that your Christmas tree glows with happiness, like a New Year's beauty with garlands.

Everyone associates the New Year, first of all, with a festive tree. That is why this image is the most popular among carnival costumes for children. Since the Christmas tree is feminine, the outfit is appropriate for a girl. Moreover, the very shape of this tree, narrow at the top and widening at the bottom, resembles a classic women's dress. There are many ideas for creating such a costume; just look at several ready-made outfits in photos and pictures. Of course, the easiest option, which many busy parents choose, would be to buy a Christmas tree costume for a girl in a store.

However, you just have to think how pleased the child will be that the outfit was sewn or made by her mother, older sister, grandmother, or even all of them together. Then this costume will be a real gift for the little princess. After all, she will definitely be the center of attention, both among the family and at a children's party.

Block one - simple alterations

This block of ideas is intended for those who have a suitable dress or suit at home. In each case, the entire work is unlikely to take more than an hour or an hour and a half, if all the materials that may be needed in the process of making the costume have already been collected.

Option one - schematic Christmas tree

Here it is assumed that the silhouette will already be outlined using the finished dress. It should have the shape of an isosceles trapezoid. Moreover, the length practically does not matter.

Long Christmas tree

You will need a simple green dress of the specified shape. To turn it into a real carnival outfit, you only need sew garlands and toys over the entire surface. Multi-colored plastic beads, which the little fashionista probably has in her box, are suitable as garlands. To begin with, it is worth marking a rough diagram directly on the fabric in order to arrange the decorations in the appropriate order. Typically, on a real New Year's tree, the garlands are arranged in a zigzag or spiral shape, starting from the very top. Between them are bows, bells, stars, snowflakes and other decorations.

Original Christmas tree

If a girl has a sundress or dress of a suitable shape, but it is a different color, then there is no need to rush to dye it. In this case we do the same as in the previous one, but We select only green decorations and place them on the surface of the fabric much thicker.

Painted forest beauty

Suitable for those who have light straight sundress. Yellow or light green color is best. To make a carnival outfit you will need a little green tulle, the same snowflake stars and paints that can be used to paint on fabric. An ornament consisting of small Christmas trees and various New Year's accessories is drawn near the collar and at the bottom of the hem. A schematic drawing depicting a New Year's tree is applied to the central part. Tulle or rain is sewn along the contour. It is also better to fill the internal space with the selected material. Next, everything is decorated with small balls and snowflakes.

Option two - a little more handicraft

The basis will be the same sundress or dress. However, it can be of almost any shape. It just requires a little more work.

Satin needlework

  • First of all, you will need bright satin ribbons and, of course, a dress. You need a lot of tapes.
  • Circle by circle the ribbons are gathered and sewn onto the base.
  • The closer each subsequent circle is to the previous one, the better.
  • You can dilute the green color with white. For example, put a white ribbon every three rows.
  • You can also add traditional “rain”, which will make the Christmas tree brighter and shinier.

Such an outfit should turn out to be very lush and beautiful.

Patchwork

This does not mean patchwork, but rather sewing on flaps. First, prepare the flaps themselves. To do this, you will need thin and light green fabric of different shades. You need to cut out a lot of elements in the shape of an irregular diamond. They should be different in length - from 15 to 25 centimeters. They are sewn vertically, alternating shades and layering rows on top of each other. Moreover, only the upper corner should be fixed. After the work is ready, you should decorate it a little with the same bells and snowflakes. The same can be done with satin ribbons. However, they need to be prepared a little in advance. To do this, one edge of each tape must be cut into a fringe. The ribbons are then sewn vertically, just like the flaps.

Option three - simple compound

Here you will need a green skirt. Of course, it is desirable that it be lush, but this is completely optional. In addition to the skirt, the suit will consist of the usual red tight knee-high socks and red tights. Why red? It’s just that the traditional color combination for the New Year and Christmas holidays is red and green. It wouldn't hurt to add a little white detail.. You can even take ordinary cotton wool. It is rolled into thin rolls and decorated with a skirt and golf. You can attach it quite loosely with a thin white thread, this will give it a natural look. Place the cotton wool horizontally. There should be several rows, and not all of them are solid. This will create the feeling that our Christmas tree is a little sprinkled with snow. You can strengthen this impression with the same cotton wool, only this time you need balls of different sizes. Another addition to such a colored Christmas tree would be a small cape made of green satin or tulle. It is very easy to sew it yourself. Essentially, it is just a large fluffy collar that is not attached to the clothing, but is simply tied at the throat. A suit consisting of a skirt and vest without buttons is very suitable for creating an outfit for a forest New Year's beauty. Traditional colors are suitable - white, red, green. In this case, all edges of both the vest and the skirt need to be decorated with rain. Even though it is very simple, this outfit looks great. Especially if you wear a white golf shirt with tights under a green suit.

Block two - sewing for needlewomen

Tutu

The entire outfit will consist of a tutu skirt and a decorated top.. The Christmas tree will be lush, just like a real one. Materials are organza, tulle, satin, elastic ribbon and threads. Of course everything is green.

All that remains is to put on your outfit and celebrate New Year and Christmas.

Trapezoid

A very easy option to make, in which you need to sew a simple dress in the shape of a trapezoid. It is better to use thin fabric, such as silk or satin.

Anyone can make a pattern. It is very similar to the top described in the previous costume. Only the length and shape of the product have been changed. Length - just below the knees. The only caveat is that you need to make a lot of small loops along the bottom edge of the dress from the inside. Then, when the product is ready, a thick, rigid wire is inserted into them, which will help the hem not to fall, but to stand. The last step is simply decorating the finished outfit with rain, snowflakes and other New Year accessories.

Block three - headdress

One of the most important parts of a herringbone costume is the headdress. Here are a few examples from which you can choose a suitable addition to your homemade outfit.

  • Rain hat. This option is the simplest. Any hat should be tightly covered with rain and decorated with snowflakes or pieces of cotton wool. A crocheted hat is ideal, as it is very easy to attach decorations to it.
  • Veil. Everything is simple here too. You will need organza or tulle. A long, narrow piece is gathered from one edge and attached to the hair with ordinary invisible pins. In the central part on top you can attach the same rain or make a lush bow from organza.
  • Cap. The easiest way is to make it from ordinary cardboard and attach a thin elastic band so that it stays well on your head. If you wish, you can glue any suitable fabric on top of the cardboard. It is better, of course, to use the same material from which the outfit itself is made.
  • Felt. A simple Panama hat with a pointed top is sewn from felt and decorated like the entire suit. You can even use pieces of different shades of green, then it will be much more interesting.
  • Star. Probably every girl has a regular hair hoop. If you wrap it with rain and attach a traditional Christmas tree decoration - a star - on top, you will get a very simple and wonderful headdress.

If you spend a little time making a simple costume, then your child will be very grateful to you for the holiday gift. In the next video you will find a short instruction on how to make a New Year's Christmas tree costume for a girl, without using any specific patterns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OolKluA4uQ

Hello, dear friends! New Year's holidays are just around the corner. Schools and kindergartens host Christmas trees, and parents dress up their children for performances and masquerades. Many people try to create an outfit on their own, but not everyone has sewing skills, without which, it would seem, this process is impossible. Today we will do Christmas tree costume for girls Mashi. It is not difficult to perform. And the charming Olga, who sews all the costumes for her niece Mashenka, will tell and show us the entire manufacturing process.

The Christmas tree costume is quite common for the New Year holidays, because the Christmas tree is the center of every celebration. What's the New Year without her? Traditional round dances around the forest beauty unite all guests and create a great mood.

The costume of Masha, who is only 5 years old, consisted of a main outfit and a cap in the shape of the top of a Christmas tree. She wore it to a New Year's party in kindergarten.

MATERIALS

  • 5 meters of bright green mesh and 3 meters of emerald
  • 70 cm green lining fabric
  • Linen elastic
  • Christmas tree decorations made of plastic and wood
  • Thick cardboard
  • Glue gun

The main outfit consists of three tiers:

  • Underskirt (from waist to floor) -66 cm;
  • Attached to the neck - 33 cm;
  • Short, in the form of a skirt - 33 cm.

The skirt, made of lining fabric, was cut in the shape of a half-sun with one seam and was fitted with an elastic waist. The elastic band needs to be measured according to the child so that it is not loose and does not press. Masha’s waist circumference is 50 cm, and Olga cut off 40 cm of elastic. This was quite enough. Olga decorated the hem of the bottom with beautiful embroidery in the shape of a herringbone.

Next, Olga cut the mesh into strips 30 cm wide and 132 cm long for the lower tier (long skirt), and for the top tier 30 cm by 66 cm. Having prepared the elastic for both tiers, Olga tied the strips of mesh on the elastic bands in knots, alternating colors with each other.

This is the main outfit!

Now it's up to the cap.

For him, Olga cut out a sector of a circle from thick paper, the rounded edge of which was 2 cm larger than the diameter of Masha’s head. I rolled it into a cone shape and glued it together. Olga treated the lower edge of the cap with a mesh, and then, using a hot gun, secured the fabric to the cap, carefully wrapping the edge of the fabric inside the cap.

Then Olga sewed two tiers of mesh at different heights, having previously assembled it by hand. The top of the cap was decorated with three squares, the sides of which are equal to 13 cm. They were attached as shown in mine.

And finally, the entire costume was decorated with stars, beads, Christmas tree decorations and various decorations. Our charming and mysterious Christmas tree is ready! In my opinion, great job! Well done Olga!

In the photo you can see Mashenka in a suit, but not yet in final assembly. As soon as I have a photo of Masha at the New Year's party in full set, I will show it right away).

This is, in my opinion, not a complicated New Year’s Christmas tree costume for a girl that you can create yourself. You only need to sew one skirt. I hope you liked the costume and if you wish, you can easily cope with it.

I thank Olga and her niece Masha for such an interesting master class. I am sure that this is not the last costume that Olga created, which means that we have the opportunity to see her other works in the future).

She is not a professional craftsman, but she has always been partial to sewing. It’s good that our skills can be useful to others).

I wish your children wonderful and fabulous holidays, charming outfits and wonderful gifts from Santa Claus!!!
