Crocheted mug coasters - simple and beautiful (with diagrams). Coasters for hot dishes Coasters for hot dishes crochet diagrams with descriptions

Good afternoon, dear needlewomen and all blog guests!

Today I have a small topic: I decided to show you how to crochet coasters for mugs. A lot of people are interested in this issue.

I made a small selection of simple patterns for beautiful crocheted coasters. They often learn to knit from such things.

Beautiful crochet coasters for mugs: photo

First of all, I was inspired by these photos of coasters for mugs that I saw on the Internet.

Wow, such adorable sets! They can be used for cups and glasses when setting the table.

Even on weekdays, the kitchen or dining room should be beautiful. And these knitted little things add both comfort and mood.

In addition, these knitted items perform a practical function; they protect the surface of the furniture from stains and scratches, especially if something hot is placed on the table, so as a stand for hot items, this is perhaps its most important use.

Of course, some wooden or wicker coasters may be more practical and convenient, but we, needlewomen, need to use the leftover yarn and in general, tying coasters with our own hands is much more pleasant, in addition, this fashionable decoration for the kitchen will surprise both home and guests.

Let's show our creative imagination and knit coasters for mugs!

You can use any thick thread. And the leftover yarn will come in handy, and knitting yarn generally produces beauty! You just need to take into account the style of the interior and choose a nice color for knitted coasters.

We choose, as always, a hook that matches the yarn.

Schemes of simple round coasters for a mug

The crocheted mug stands in the top main photo are crocheted according to the diagram below:

In principle, you can use any pattern for knitting round coasters. The diagrams posted here would be perfect, or I won’t repeat myself and post them again. By the way, there is a diagram close to the pink stands.

Here is another simple diagram, read about it below:

When knitting colored patterns, you should correctly make the transition from one color to another, knitting the last loop of the row with a new color. You can see how to do this in my video, in which I show how to crochet a sunflower flower, which, by the way, turned out to be an excellent coaster for a mug.

And here are some cute coasters - flowers, I also made a tutorial on how to knit them:

Schemes of square stands

I haven’t knitted any sets of coasters yet, but I do have one coaster for a mug. It turned out completely unexpectedly.

The fact is that some of my friends at home really like to drink tea while sitting in an armchair watching the TV. Trying to put a hot mug on the coffee table with my snow-white one caused, to put it mildly, very strong emotions. I immediately found something to substitute. And one day I came across a motif that I had knitted specifically for making a master class. So it remained to serve as a stand for hot mugs, which roams from an armchair to a sofa, and from a sofa to a computer desk, and is in no way tied to the style of the interior, but is quite a nice stand for a mug with your own hands.

You can also knit them from thick yarn, which is also an excellent option for coasters.

Here is also a diagram of an interesting stand using the fillet technique with a three-dimensional flower.

But this article probably wouldn’t exist if I hadn’t come across the following knitted coasters, which simply fascinated me: the first amaze with their simplicity, while the others, on the contrary, have an unusual shape and openwork pattern.

Despite the fact that these coasters are knitted from gray yarn, they look very elegant, which is what captivated me, like all the simple ones, which I really love.

The last row of a simple circle (diagram above) or square is knitted with a crochet stitch, which gives a finished look to the product and a very beautiful edge design.

The diagram of the square motif was taken from the same magazine as the photo of the model, but for some reason they forgot to add an openwork path, the same as on the round stand, and the strapping in a slow step, keep this in mind.

Or these square stands can be connected using the same pattern:

A wonderful gift set in combination with.

The simplest diagram of a hot hook stand can become the basis of an original product. It is enough to choose good threads, decide on the design and pattern. The device will complement the interior design, preserve furniture from damage and improve the aesthetic appearance of serving a hot drink.

What crocheted coasters can be like?

You can make a hot stand yourself. The simplest option is crocheting. There are several options for making the device:

  • The most common are round coasters.
  • More practical, but less popular are square stands.
  • Rectangular, triangular, and oval products may be found.

Crocheting a hot stand is carried out in accordance with certain patterns. If you follow the descriptions completely, the result will be amazing.

To make serving tea or coffee more organic, it is worth making a whole set of stands for cups and a teapot. A complete set must be made in the same style.

What materials can be used to make stands?

Knitted coasters are mainly used in the kitchen, so it is not advisable to make the device from natural threads. Such yarn quickly loses its shape, color, and quickly ignites. It is worth choosing the following yarn options:

  • Cotton and linen are suitable for making openwork coasters.
  • Acrylic is an ideal option for knitting any type of stand.
  • Knitted threads will help you create a trendy product.

Sometimes satin ribbons, lurex threads and other yarn options are used to make textile elements of such functionality. You can decorate knitted pieces with lace, fabric, ribbons, and thread embroidery.

The principle of knitting a round stand

The most popular shape for a stand is a circle. Crocheting this version of the product is very simple using a crochet hook. Even an inexperienced needlewoman can make a device using a clear diagram.

How to crochet a circle base for a cup stand:

  1. First you need to make a loop, which will become the beginning for forming an amigurumi circle.
  2. Tie a loop with 6 single crochets. Pull the end of the loop thread to secure the circle.
  3. In the second row you need to double the number of loops. Work two double crochets into each stitch.
  4. In the third row, the increase occurs by half of the existing number of loops. The increase is made through 1 loop.
  5. In each subsequent row, an addition is made through two, three, four loops.

Knitting continues until a circle of the desired size is obtained. Next, additional finishing is carried out.

Square version of the stand made using a hook

Crocheting coasters with a description is a simple task. Therefore, in addition to recreating a round shape, you can try to make a square variation of the product. The diagram of a stand for hot hooks in the shape of a square suggests the following description of work:

  1. You need to cast on a chain of five loops and close them into a circle.
  2. Knit four lifting chain stitches. Add three double crochets and 2 chain stitches to the adjacent and each subsequent loop. At the end, tie 2 double crochets into the same loop from which the rise was knitted.
  3. Knit the next row in the same way, but the air chain is formed only on turns. The difference is the space between the double crochet fans. It must be done in every second air loop of the previous row.
  4. The same principle is applied in the manufacture of all subsequent rows.

Having knitted a sufficient number of rows, finish the work. In the process of creating a square, you should carefully monitor the even formation of the diagonals.

Openwork stand for a cup

The openwork version of the device itself is a decorative element of the table. You can create several collections corresponding to each season. In winter, stands in the form of snowflakes can be used, in summer - flowers, in autumn - drops, and in spring - leaves. Naturally, the design of a hot hook stand in this interpretation will be complex. But the result will exceed expectations.

How to crochet a hot pot in a romantic style:

  1. Cast on 6 air loops that close into a ring.
  2. The next row should be knitted with single crochets. It is worth increasing the number of loops. Knit 2 stitches into each loop.
  3. Next, knit air chains of five loops. Secure with single crochets through each stitch of the previous row.
  4. Knit all subsequent rows in the same way. But you should increase the number of loops by one in air chains.
  5. The last row can be knitted with single crochets to create a frame for the openwork fabric.

You can use any pattern for knitting openwork napkins to decorate the interior. You can further decorate the product.

The principle of decorating the finished product

If you choose the simplest design of a hot hook stand, then decoration can improve the appearance of the product. You can decorate the workpiece using any elements and materials. It is important not to forget about the basic functionality of the device. Therefore, you should not use elements that are too voluminous.

What decoration options can be used:

  • A popular option would be to make a stand in the shape of a piece of fruit. If you knit a circle in advance from threads of the desired color, then using basic embroidery it is easy to make a decoration. Thus, you can recreate a slice of lemon, orange, kiwi, or watermelon.
  • An animal stand would be an interesting option for children. You can embroider the animal's face on the canvas itself. Additionally, knit the ears and paws. A bunny, a bear, a cat, a dog, a squirrel looks original.
  • If you make more discreet versions of the stands, the edges can be trimmed with ribbon, fabric or lace. Beads or beads are sewn along the circle. If the base option is lace, then the holes can be intertwined with ribbon.

Decoration options can be very diverse in style and quantity of materials. Available accessories are used for such purposes: buttons, pins, zippers, locks, buttons.

We offer you to knit a beautiful gift with your own hands - an original crochet hot stand. A kitchen decorated with personal crafts will always be a favorite place for the whole family.

You will need: any yarn, preferably cotton (green, white, yellow) and a hook.

Description of the process of crocheting a hot stand Chamomile:

  • Row 1: Use yellow yarn to cast on 7 air loops and close them into a ring with a connecting stitch.
  • Row 2: Cast on 3 chain stitches and knit 2 double crochets into each loop. There are 15 columns in total.
  • Row 3: Using white yarn, cast on 7 chain stitches + 3 lifting stitches and begin knitting. We knit 2 double crochet stitches, 3 single crochet stitches and 2 single crochet stitches. We attach our petal to the next loop with a connecting post. You and I should have 15 petals.
  • Row 4: Insert green yarn, knit 1 single crochet and 4 chain stitches in the middle of the petal, between the petals and thus complete the row.
  • Row 5: Using white yarn, we knit 1 single crochet into each loop. There are 75 columns in total.

And our beautiful hot stand is ready.

Crochet coasters: description of work

Stand diagram:

1st row - 10 v.p. into the ring.

2nd row - 3 v.p. lifting; 31 double crochets - close the row with a blind loop;

3rd row - 3 v.p. to rise; 2 v.p. - column with 1 nak. in a column through one, 2 vp. - a column with 1 stitch in a loop through one, etc. to the end of the row; close the row;

5th row - we tie chains of air loops: for each chain: 5 tbsp. with 1 nac., picot from 3 vp, 3 tbsp. with 1 nac., picot from 3 vp, 3 tbsp. with 1 nac., picot from 3 vp, 3 tbsp. with 1 nac., picot from 3 vp, 3 tbsp. from 1st century, art. without crochet in the previous row (see diagram).

Don't be alarmed by the petals creeping over each other. I didn’t like this moment either (the diagram is from a Japanese magazine), but after I steamed the finished crocheted hot stand, everything fell into place perfectly.

6th row - we pass one petal at a time with blind loops to the first picot. We go through the pico and cast on 2 ch. on the rise and a chain of 7 vp; We attach it between the last two picots of the same petal with a single crochet. Then - again 7 vp. - and again a double crochet between the first two picots of the second petal. Continue to the end of the row.

Row 7 - 5 ch, 1 st. from 1 ac. in the same loop; * 2 ch, single crochet in a chain of chain loops from the previous row; 3 vp, single crochet in the same chain; 2 ch, art. from 1 ac. in the column of the previous row, 2 vp, st. from 1 ac. in the same column of the previous row* - continue from * to * until the end of the row.

8th row - 3 v.p. for instep, 2 stitches with 1 stitch, knitted together; *3 ch; three stitches with 1 nak., knitted together, in a picot of the previous row; 3 vp; 3 tbsp. with 1 nak., knitted together, between the columns with 1 nak. previous row* - repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

9th row - 3 v.p. to rise; picot from 3 vp; 1 ch; double crochet in the same loop of the previous row; picot from 3 vp; 1 ch, double crochet in the same loop of the previous row; 2 ch; *single crochet in three stitches knitted together from the previous row; 2 ch, double crochet; picot from 3 vp; 1 ch, double crochet in the same loop of the previous row; picot from 3 vp; 1 ch; double crochet in the same loop of the previous row; picot from 3 vp; 2 ch* - knit from * to * to the end of the row.

Row 10 (not shown in the diagram) - tie the entire previous row with single crochets to seal the edge; in places of picot - also make picot from 3 vp.

Now our hot stand needs to be steamed. Now it looks like this:

Not very attractive, right?

And compare it with its ready-to-eat sister:

Lay the napkin wrong side up on the ironing board; ideally, we fix it around the perimeter with tailor’s pins without a plastic ball at the end - with a loop. Cover with a damp thin cloth and iron with steam. If you trust your iron - you can skip the need for a damp cloth - I find it easier to smooth out all those unruly petals and picots.

Important: you really need to iron it from the wrong side! Otherwise, all the beautiful volume of facial knitting will be lost.

Hot coasters are an example of affordable little things that will add unique comfort and create a warm atmosphere in your kitchen. Working on them does not require any special skills and is accessible to beginners. In addition, the coasters are knitted quickly; you can use leftover yarn for them. The article discusses various options for a stand for hot crochet with and without patterns, when for knitting a simple description and photo is enough.
