Crochet baby blanket - diagram

Basic pattern

Beginning: (with blue yarn) ch 156, turn.

  • Row 1: skip 3 ch, dc in 4th ch. from the hook, dc in each ch. to the end, 2 ch, turn (count the first skip of 3 ch as 1 dc, total 154 dc in this row).
  • Rows 2 and 3: Skip first stitch, 1 hdc in next stitch, *3 dc, 3 dc* repeat 25 times to last 2 stitches. 2 hdc, 2 ch. (count as the first stitch on the next row), turn.
  • Rows 4 and 5: Skip 1 stitch, 1 hdc in next stitch, *3 dc, 3 dc* repeat 25 times to last 2 stitches. 2 hdc, ch 2, turn.

Repeat rows 2-5 until you have worked 85 rows or reached a length of 76 cm. Finish with the 3rd or 5th row and do not work the last 2 ch.

Edging

Determine the front and back sides for your blanket. All stitches are performed only on the front part.

  • Row 1: [with blue yarn]. 1 ch, 3 sc in the same corner. 1 sc in each stitch around the entire blanket, with 3 sc in each corner. Connection Art. in the initial ch, secure. Don't turn!
  • Rows 2-6: [with cream colored yarn]. Ch 1, sc in the back stitches around the entire blanket. 3 sc in each corner. Connection Art. in the initial ch, do not turn. Fasten after the finishing 6th row.

Cut the ends of the threads and hide them in the weave.

Explanations for the diagram

This picture shows that after you make the first row of dc, you knit a second row of dc stitches and dc stitches.

Notice the horizontal lines created by the SSNps. Keep in mind that when you dc, the horizontal line will form the loops of the previous row of stitches. For SSNpv, vertical lines will be formed in the same way.

Using the stitches ssnpv and ssnps you will get a “Gottling” pattern.

Please note that when turning the crochet hook for the next row, the previous row will look like a DC stitch.

When you knit odd rows (rows 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.), the dc stitches will look like dc stitches, and vice versa. After completing the 3rd row you will have 2 horizontal lines that will form your pattern.

To start weaving the next row (i.e. rows 2, 4, 6, etc.), all you have to do is change what you see on the previous row, i.e. Crochet dc when you see dc, and vice versa.

After completing the 4th row with opposite loops SSNpv and SSNps, the effect of weaving will become obvious. In SSNps the stitches are horizontal and sunken, while in SSNpv the stitches are vertical and convex. This gives the effect of a wicker “matting”.

Continue matting for the entire blanket until you reach row 85 or a length of 76 cm (or until the last skein of thread in your arsenal).

  • Single crochet in edging: 1st row of blue yarn and the next 5 rows of purl sc stitches made of cream yarn.
  • Remember - 3 sc in each of the 4 corners.

Trim the yarn, braid and tuck the ends of the yarn into the stitches.

A baby blanket can be a blanket in a crib or in a stroller for a walk; it can be taken to discharge or to the clinic. When the baby grows up, such a thing quickly turns into a play mat. If you are going to the store to buy such a product, then don’t rush, because below we will help you create a blanket for a newborn with your own hands.

How to crochet a baby blanket

Even a novice craftswoman can easily crochet a blanket for a newborn. This product is simply a square. It does not require complex patterns or calculations, and decorations can be made in the form of flowers, hearts, bows or other elements. It is not necessary to adhere to the specified dimensions and strictly square shape. The optimal length ranges from 80 to 120 cm, but its specific value depends on your preferences. Below you will find specific examples of small and large blankets.

Simple crochet blanket for discharge

The first master class examines the simplest blankets for newborns for discharge, which can also be knitted. The first option is made from threads of only one color, while the second has a striped pattern. You can choose the shade depending on the gender of the child. For a boy, it is better to take white and blue, and for a girl, replace the latter with pink. Both blankets have dimensions of 80x100 cm, so you will need about 350-500 g of yarn. To add density, you can use a double thread.

To calculate the initial number of loops, knit a sample with approximate dimensions of 12 by 12 cm. You need to leave it to lie down, and then use a ruler to measure the number of air loops (AC) per 1 cm. All that remains is to divide one of the dimensions of the blanket by the calculated value. This will be the initial number of VPs. The description of the rows for knitting a baby blanket is as follows:

  1. Enter the calculated number of VPs.
  2. Make 1 double crochet (dc) 3 stitches from the beginning, then 1 dc again, but without any gaps.
  3. Go up 2 ch and work to the end of the dc. Continue this way until the desired length, changing the colors of the yarn if necessary.
  4. Tie the edges with single crochets (SC), and then with the same stitches, but from left to right (this is how the “crawfish step” pattern is knitted).

How to crochet a blanket from motifs

Crochet blankets for newborns with patterns of various motifs, for example, “granny squares,” are becoming more interesting. This model is good because it is easier for a beginning craftswoman to handle it, because it is always easier to create several small parts and connect them than to knit a large fabric. In addition, you don’t need to buy a lot of yarn of different colors - leftovers from previous projects will also work, which will be enough for 1 square. Additionally, you can even knit a pillowcase this way.

The product itself will have dimensions of 1.1x1.3 m. It will require 1800 g of yarn of different colors, but of the same structure and thickness. Hooks are required numbered 3,5 and 4. In addition, you will need scissors and a needle. For beginners, it is better to use simpler motifs, as shown in the diagram. The work steps look like this:

  1. Start with 4 VPs, close them in a ring. Knit 3 double crochets inside it, then make 2 ch. Make 4 such cycles, then connect the first stitch with the last loop according to the diagram.
  2. Next, make 5 dc and 2 dc, but in the chain loop of the previous row, then 2 ch and 2 dc in the next loop of the first row and again 2 dc. Knit this combination 4 times.
  3. Next, repeat the same thing, just start with 7 dc, and at the end of the cycle do 4 dc.
  4. Sew the seam with a needle. The square is ready!
  5. Make another 220 of the same parts for the specified product dimensions. Connect the parts together with air loops, pulling the thread through both elements.

Multi-colored crocheted square blanket

This blanket for a newborn is crocheted in the following dimensions - 125 by 125 cm. It will require about 100 squares, i.e., the side of each is 12.5 cm. The yarn needed is multi-colored, but its total quantity should be about 1500 g. It is better to take a hook number 4, although different thicknesses of thread may require a thinner or thicker one. The sequence of work is as follows:

  1. Knit 1 square as a sample to measure the knitting density on it. Using a ruler, calculate the number of loops per 1 cm. Divide 12.5 cm by the resulting value - you will get the required number of VPs.
  2. Cast on a chain of the calculated number of loops, then simply knit a sc, making 2 VP lifts at the turns. Knit the element to the desired size and close the loops.
  3. Knit another 99 squares, then connect them together with a crochet hook or needle using a plain thread, such as white.

Do-it-yourself openwork blanket for a newborn for discharge

This blanket for a newborn requires more diligence and skill from mothers or grandmothers. But the product turns out to be very beautiful, which is what is required for such a celebration as the baby’s discharge from the maternity hospital. It can also be used for baptism of a baby. The dimensions of the finished baby blanket are 92 by 114 cm. The following materials and tools will be required:

  • crochet hook No. 2;
  • satin ribbon – 6 m;
  • cotton yarn – 500 g.

You can take any color, but white or pink or blue will look good depending on the gender of the child. To begin, cast on a chain of 196 VPs and knit according to pattern 1. You need to make 21 repeats in width, and 31 in length. The description of the rows of this pattern is as follows:

  • make air loops;
  • alternately perform 5 and 4 VPs;
  • knit cycles of 9 dc + 1 sc;
  • alternate between dc and air loop;
  • knit cycles of 1 RLS and 3 VP;
  • start the complex again from the first point.
  1. Tie the edges with a sc, then 2 rows of dc, and in the corners make 5 dc for an even extension.
  2. Next, perform the next repeating part - 3 sc and 3 ch, skipping 3 warp loops. In the corners, do it a little differently - 3 dc, 3 ch and again 3 dc through 1 base loop.

After creating such a border, you still need to tie it with fans, which echo the main motif of the product. The result should be 6 such elements in width and 7 in length. Make an openwork binding according to scheme 2, using the symbols on it. Next, thread the ribbon through the holes in the border, tying it with a bow in one of the corners or even two.

, . .

The birth of a child is a big holiday for the whole family. I want this day to remain in my memory for the rest of my life.

A newborn's attire is a touching element of a happy family event

Photos taken upon leaving the maternity hospital always capture a wonderful event with sweet details. There are happy parents, a huge bouquet of flowers, grandparents, doctors, and closest friends. The baby is so tiny that he is shown in the picture only as a three-dimensional bundle. A beautiful blanket, knitted by yourself and tied with a beautiful ribbon - it’s so traditional, but at the same time very touching.

Superstitions associated with a dowry for a baby

Despite the fact that during pregnancy a young woman expecting her first child usually has a lot of free time, especially in the last months, for superstitious reasons she should not engage in sewing or knitting. This sign can be treated differently. Some people laugh at old prejudices, while others are sure that in this case it is better to play it safe than to make a mistake that you may later greatly regret. The fact is that it is believed that if during pregnancy you engage in work related to threads, the child runs the risk of becoming entangled in the umbilical cord.

A blanket knitted by a grandmother will bring love, happiness and good health to the child.

There are a lot of signs associated with the birth of a new person. In particular, this: before the baby is born, parents should not purchase any things for him. Where does the dowry for the baby come from? After all, from the very first days of his life he needs a lot of all kinds of things. The answer is simple - parents do not gain anything, but their own mothers and fathers can collect the dowry secretly from them. This approach is very reasonable, as it unites not very well-known relatives around a young family. The blanket for discharge from the maternity hospital is usually knitted by one of the grandmothers. As a rule, women at this age already know how to knit, so making a beautiful knitted blanket is not difficult for them.

Yarn should be only the best

Knitting a beautiful blanket to wrap a newborn in is not at all difficult. You just need to decide on a few questions. Firstly, what time of year the baby is expected to appear. Secondly, what gender is he? And thirdly, which pattern will be most suitable.

It is better to knit a blanket for discharge in the summer from cotton, viscose or silk yarn. The baby will not be hot, and the face, covered with a light cover, will not be exposed to the rays of the bright sun and will be protected from both dust and the evil eye.

If the birth is expected in winter, then a warm woolen blanket will come in handy. In yarn stores you can find excellent wool threads designed especially for children. They are particularly lightweight. It is better not to take fluffy ones, such as mohair or angora, as they are fluffy and the lint can cause anxiety to the baby. For discharge, it is better to make it from soft cashmere.

Color choice matters

The color can be any. Delicate pastel shades are especially suitable for this occasion. The blanket for a girl is pink, and for a boy it is blue. White bedspreads with a contrasting ribbon threaded along the edge look very nice.

If for some reason the gender of the child is unknown, then white will be the best option.

Crocheted fabric is most suitable for a baby blanket

A crocheted blanket for discharge for newborns (patterns are presented in this article) is preferable to knitting. The fact is that such a blanket can be easily tied if the need arises. There is another plus - such a blanket is practically not deformed, that is, its edges do not curl, as happens with straight fabrics made on knitting needles.

The variety of design options should not be intimidating

A fairly thick winter woolen blanket can be knitted with a simple net, and a silk ribbon threaded around the perimeter. It is important that the pattern is without bumps or other thickenings. They will interfere with the baby, creating discomfort when he lies in a stroller or crib. You can get creative with the patterns if you crochet a summer blanket for newborns for discharge. Patterns for thin canvases are usually quite complex. In addition to the main pattern used for the central part, you need to choose a pattern for the border. This work is for an experienced knitter, as it requires the ability to calculate and adjust repeats.

A crocheted blanket for discharge for newborns, diagrams and photos of the summer and winter versions of which are presented in the article, requires calculation regarding the size of the fabric. As a rule, it is standard - 1 m x 1.2 m. It is inconvenient to wrap a child in a blanket that is too large or too small.

The blanket can be knitted with fancy openwork, or it can be knitted with a simple fillet with a laconic pattern in the form of flowers, hearts or stripes.

The knitting speed depends on the thickness of the threads and the hook number

Thin threads also require a thin hook. This blanket takes a long time to knit. For thick wool, you should use a thicker hook. A skilled knitter will need no more than two weeks to crochet a woolen blanket for newborns for discharge (patterns of a simple fillet of double crochets and two or three chain loops between them are visible in the photo below).

It is better to knit with loose loops - this will make the item more flexible.

Knitting a sample is a mandatory stage of work

Before starting work on the main fabric, you should knit a small sample. It must be measured in length and width, and the numbers written down. After this, the sample must be washed in the same way as you are going to subsequently wash the entire blanket.

The dried and ironed sample must be measured again and, by comparing the initial and final dimensions, the loops must be calculated.

A universal option - from individual motifs

The most common, one might say, universal blanket is made from square motifs. They are knitted in single colors or multi-colored. The connection occurs during the knitting process or after all the elements are ready. Then they can be connected with the same yarn using a hook or sewn with a needle with threads of a matching color. Blankets knitted from threads of two or three colors that match each other are very beautiful. You should not tie voluminous flowers into the squares of the blanket on which the child will lie. Although it looks very beautiful, the inconvenience caused by the thickening from the flowers to the fragile bone skeleton is too great.

Knitting with a single fabric from the center is a good option for a not very experienced craftswoman.

Another version of a universal blanket is a fabric knitted from the middle. The sides of such a canvas are the same length. The knitting process is extremely simple - stitches are added at the corners of each next row. For this reason, the number of columns and air loops becomes larger and larger with distance from the middle. This option is characterized by the fact that the corners of the canvas are somewhat elongated - not rectangular, but sharp, and the straight parts, accordingly, are slightly compressed. For a small blanket made of thick threads, this feature is quite acceptable. With this method of knitting, the choice of patterns is very limited, but you can play with color. In addition, it is somewhat easier to tie a square fabric with an openwork border than a rectangular one. The border can only be tied on two opposite sides, then the blanket will take on a standard size.

A woolen blanket can be washed in a machine using the “Wool” setting or by hand. The spin is only very delicate. Cotton ones can be safely machine washed, and white ones can even be bleached.

Good afternoon, dear needlewomen!

Knitting for children, namely a blanket, is a very necessary thing in a family with a baby. The blanket will be useful on the street, in a crib, in a stroller, at discharge or at an appointment at the clinic, or maybe at a themed photo shoot. In the future, it can be used as a mat during games on the floor. If you have at least a little skill, then this master class is for you!

Crochet blanket with hearts

The blanket is crocheted, the main pattern is cones. See our previous one for how to knit this pattern.

: For knitting, we need six skeins of yarn of different colors, including a whole skein for tying and joining the parts (we have 100 grams per 336 meters). Special children's yarn marked baby is best. For knitting we used a hook No. 3.5.

The principle of knitting such a blanket is to knit individual squares with hearts, which will subsequently be connected to each other, forming a whole fabric. The squares must be strictly the same in length and width.

In our case, the squares turned out to be approximately 10 by 10 centimeters, 70 pieces, so the finished product will be 100 cm by 70 cm (7 squares wide and 10 long)

Keep in mind that even yarn from the same company can be of different thicknesses, so compare the squares while knitting and adjust the density.

Crochet blanket pattern

We collect a chain of 21 air loops,

1st row: Lifting loop, single crochet

2nd row: Single crochets

3rd row: 10 single crochet, cone, 10 single crochet

4th row: single crochets

5th row: 8 single crochet, cone, 3 single crochet, cone, 8 single crochet

7th row: 6 single crochet, cone, 7 single crochet, cone, 6 single crochet

Row 8: single crochets

9 row: 4 single crochet, cone, 11 single crochet, cone, 4 single crochet

Row 10: single crochets

11th row: 2 single crochet, cone, 15 single crochet, cone, 2 single crochet

Row 12: single crochets

Row 13: 2 single crochets, cone, 15 single crochets, cone, 2 single crochets

Row 14: single crochets

Row 15: 2 single crochet, bump, 7 single crochet, bump, 7 single crochet, bump, 2 single crochet

Row 16: single crochets

17th row: 3 single crochet, bump, 4 single crochet, bump, 3 single crochet, bump, 4 single crochet, bump, 3 single crochet

Row 18: single crochets

Row 19: 4 single crochet, bump, 1 single crochet, bump, 7 single crochet, bump, 1 single crochet, bump, 4 single crochet

Rows 20 - 22: all single crochets

The knitting pattern is presented below, it is better to print it out, it will be more convenient.

A beautiful discharge gift for a newborn is ready!

Text prepared by: Veronica

In the first months of life, a baby needs a warm and favorable environment. Therefore, the mother tries to wrap her newborn child in warm clothes and blankets. Knitted blankets for newborns do an excellent job of this function. Mothers who like to do “hand-made” or at least know the basics of knitting can make a small blanket with their own hands.

Blanket using knitting needles

Knit a small baby blanket with the pattern shown in the picture:

You will end up with a square blanket that will require approximately half a kilogram of yarn. A baby has very delicate skin, so it is important to use natural materials that are pleasant to the touch. You can choose the color according to your wishes, but it is important not to knit with aggressive colors, so as not to irritate mother and child.

Description:

1) First, cast on 193 stitches on thick knitting needles and knit an edge measuring 2.5-3 cm. You need to knit with knit stitches.

3) The pattern for knitting a blanket for a newborn with knitting needles, indicated above, depicts the pattern that you will knit in the middle of the blanket fabric.

4) Work 322 rows in pattern and garter stitch on the sides.

5) Knit the edge with 2.5-3 cm knit stitches and secure the thread.

Mothers knit blankets not only to keep their baby warm. They want the baby to be surrounded by beautiful things. Therefore, baby blankets can be knitted in various patterns. For example, a plaid with a star pattern looks beautiful:

To knit a blanket with stars, you will need:

  • thick knitting needles;
  • yarn, 300-400

Description:

1) Knit 22 hexagons according to pattern 1. For one hexagon, cast on 8 loops and knit: edge loop, knit, yarn over (knit and yarn over 6 more times), edge loop. So you need to knit 36 rows.

2) Knit 6 trapezoids using the knitting order as in step 1, but repeating the knit and yarn overs must be done 3 times.

3) Sew the edges of the hexagons.

4) Cast on 20 stitches from the edges of the hexagons. So you will have 40 loops on your knitting needles. Knit a row with purl stitches and follow pattern 2. Next, knit this way: knit 3 loops at a time with a purl stitch, then 2 loops, then put one over the other. Knit following the instructions in the pattern. Connect all the triangles, hexagons and trapezoids.

5) To make the edging of the blanket, cast on 200 loops on the knitting needles and knit more than 4.5 cm with knit stitches. At the same time, add 1 loop on each side to each 2nd row. This must be done 10 times.

6) Wash the blanket and dry it. Now they can cover the baby.

How to crochet a blanket

Needlewomen who are more comfortable with crocheting rather than knitting needles can work with the following pattern:

To work, you will need yarn of two colors to your liking and a hook.

Description:

1) Knit air loops with the main color for about 0.7 m;

2) Using 1 pattern, knit 6 rows with the main color;

3) Knit 2 rows according to pattern 2, 2 according to pattern 1. Alternate like this until the 31st row, where you attach a thread of a different color and knit another row;

4) Knit 4 rows according to 1 pattern;

5) Knit the next rows in reverse order;

6) Tie your blanket with a border and a pattern of 3 patterns.

Crocheted blankets keep your baby warm. They are convenient to use both at home and on a walk, covering the child in a stroller.

There are many variations of patterns for knitted baby blankets. Some blankets are used not only to warm the baby, but also to decorate his crib or chair. Bright crocheted paintings can attract the baby's attention and develop his vision and sense of touch. This pattern for crocheting a blanket for a newborn has many bright and voluminous details that the baby will like as soon as he begins to distinguish objects:

If you knit the pattern according to the diagrams, you will get this fun blanket:

And a video for a better understanding of the work progress.

Crocheting children's blankets is sometimes not so difficult as it is difficult to choose a good pattern and theme of the blanket, so that it is exactly a children's thing that the child will love for many years, and at the same time the blanket should be warm, soft, and suitable for the interior of the children's room . In today's selection you will find the best ideas for original children's blankets that you can crochet!

The easiest way (and, by the way, probably the fastest) to knit an interesting blanket for a baby is to take unusual yarn, for example, Pompom yarn. It is perfect even for babies, because this yarn is soft and warm.

The next most popular method is to choose an unusual pattern :) For a large canvas, the zigzag pattern is excellent, plus it allows you to “play” with color.

A very cool way to knit a blanket from motifs is to imagine each monochromatic motif in the form of a “pixel”, and make some simple pattern from such “pixels”. The plan for the future blanket can be drawn up literally on a piece of notebook paper, count the number of squares of each color, and connect the motifs in accordance with this scheme.

blankets with a “pixelated” pattern of plain square motifs

Another fairly simple but cute way to decorate a blanket and add some personality to it is with appliqués. These could be some kind of plot things, like little animals, boats, hearts, flowers, etc., or just bright pom-poms.

If you have time to get confused, you can choose a very non-standard solution - a fabric made of strips formed by rings, sequentially knitted in a “chain”. Due to the fact that the rings can vary in color, it will turn out very bright and unusual.

To create colored rows, you can do it even simpler - knit a blanket with a “tulips” pattern; by the way, it is suitable both for large canvases and for decorating the edge of a plain girl’s blouse, for example.

There are other ways to knit a pattern in rows, for example, these “convex” patterns (I would call them 3D). Knitting them is quite tedious, but the result is simply amazing, and there is a large selection - bees, butterflies, roses, as well as, for example, those formed during the work - beautiful not only in their appearance, but also in the fact that they will never fall off like sewn-on elements .

If you are knitting a blanket for a girl, then you have hundreds of thousands of patterns with and from flowers in your arsenal!

Any symmetrical flower motif, based on a square or polygon, is suitable as a motif. If the motif itself is simple, then correctly selected colors will “draw” the flowers, and convex flowers will look like in a clearing!

The bumps can be made not only from flowers, but simply “bumps” look very cool, and besides, due to such a pattern, the blanket will be thicker and warmer.

bright plaid with cone pattern

By the way, if you impose multi-colored motifs with bumps, you can imitate Lego pieces; boys will especially like this blanket :) In general, experiment with motifs, the order of connection and the plot. A blanket knitted from completely different, non-repeating square motifs can become not only a warm accessory, but also an educational rug; your baby will study such a blanket with great interest!

Blankets with geometric patterns do not always seem very childish, however, oddly enough, they capture the attention of even the smallest crumbs, due to the contrasting colors.

Each blanket has its own “trick”. You can show all the beauty “in person”, or you can decorate a plain blanket and at the same time insulate it with an interesting lining from the inside.

Probably the cutest baby blankets are those with little animals on them. And there are many ways here too. However, most of them are crocheted blankets from motifs, but there are millions of variations of these motifs))). Here, for example, are the bunnie motifs :)

The most popular motifs are bear cubs, owlets and bunnies, but in fact, the list doesn’t end there - you can knit piglets, foxes, frogs, raccoons and hippos))) it’s also quite easy to knit snowmen, for example, for a New Year’s blanket .

And some more blankets with animalistic motifs:

Animals based on motifs can also be knitted using the jacquard method. Well, besides animals, you can imitate natural scenes simply by combining motifs of certain colors. In this way you can imitate honeycombs, turtle shells, fish scales, etc.

For the bravest ones, you can knit a blanket in the form of one huge motif with a jacquard pattern)))

Good luck with your knitting, and many new warm, cozy, bright, beautiful and unusual blankets for your children! 🙂

It is not necessary to cover the baby with a warm blanket. A wool knitted blanket is much lighter and at the same time protects well from the cold. If a child plays on the floor, lay out a blanket - he will probably not catch a cold. You don’t need to look for this convenient thing in stores - you can knit children's blanket knitted or crochet.

A series of video tutorials tell you how to do this, and in several ways, which even beginners can use - they tell you in such detail about all the necessary actions. With a little fun work, you can knit a blanket with your own hands that will provide your baby with cozy warmth.

A blanket for a child is crocheted across a row , The edges are finished with garter stitch. If desired, you can add a soft flannel lining to the blanket. The blanket is knitted from yarn containing 25% wool and 75% acrylic. It is explained in detail how knit a blanket with knitting needles and is shown in a reduced sample.

In garter stitch, which trims the edges of the blanket, all rows are knitted, and when creating the main pattern, the knit and purl stitches alternate. The tangle is knitted with an offset. The lining, if made, is sewn on by machine or by hand. A blanket knitted from single-color yarn looks neat and beautiful.

Crochet blanket for newborn crocheted from “Children's Novelty” yarn with size 2.5 crochet. The dimensions of the blanket are 110 x 100 cm; a smaller size will be too small for a newborn. The pattern with which it is decorated is knitted very simply. It is openwork, with small gaps, so this blanket is used mainly in the warm season.

To make the blanket warmer, a lining is attached to it with buttons. The blanket is tied with a pattern with arcs of white yarn, and there are knitted roses at the corners. The main design with small arches and gaps arranged in a checkerboard pattern is described in detail in the video tutorial.

Plaid for newborn knitted from wool in half with acrylic. The video tutorial explains in detail which stitches follow which ones and how they are knitted. Alternating stitches results in a small checkered pattern that is dense enough to keep the blanket warm. The blanket turned out to be very soft and pleasant to the touch. For a baby, it will be enough to knit a blanket measuring 90 x 90 centimeters.

It is possible to make the blanket a little longer, up to 120 cm. It fits easily in a regular crib, providing warmth and comfort to the child. The yarn used for knitting is CASHMERE GOLD Madame Tricote Paris, 100 g holds 320 meters.

The blanket took eight skeins of Milk Cotton yarn (45% cotton, 15% silk and 40% acrylic). Crochet a blanket No. 2.5 is completely easy. To knit the basic pattern of a blanket, you need to cast on a number of loops that is a multiple of four plus one loop. The pattern turns out beautiful, with alternating crosses and small gaps that provide ventilation.

Rows 1 – 6 are repeated. When the main fabric of the blanket is knitted, it is tied around the perimeter. A border of alternating bows, small and larger, serves as a good decoration for the blanket. Your child will rest comfortably under such a cozy blanket.

The blanket is knitted from Jarn Art Jeans yarn, color No. 40, containing 55% cotton and 45% polyacrylic. Basic pattern plaid - zigzag lines of gaps. To form it, it is necessary to calculate in detail the alternation of loops and draw up a work diagram. The diagram shows knit and purl stitches and you need to knit exactly according to the diagram.

The border framing the blanket is knitted with knit stitches, forming a neat, simple pattern 9-10 rows high. Then the outermost loops form the border, and the middle ones form the main pattern. After finishing the work, you need to knit the border, closing the final loops.

Master Class offers to learn how to knit a simple but very beautiful blanket for small children. When knitting, only knit and purl loops are used; knitting needles on fishing line with a total length of 1 meter number 3.0 were used as a tool. The yarn is wool mixed with acrylic, 350 grams were used for the entire blanket.

A calculation of the location of the loops is proposed. The border of the blanket is knitted in garter stitch. So that it does not look stretched, the number of loops is cast less than for the main pattern. All knitting actions, starting from the first loop, are shown in detail on the screen until the complete completion of the work.

A children's openwork blanket is knitted for a newborn baby, measuring 80 x 90 cm, from cotton yarn. Five skeins of yarn were used for the blanket, but some of the yarn remained, and booties for the baby were knitted from the rest. The knitting needles used were circular number 3.25. A similar knitting pattern is presented, and the entire sequence of obtaining the pattern is shown on the sample.

The main pattern is formed by four holes collected together, reminiscent of flower petals. A border is knitted along the edge of the blanket with a pearl pattern. It turns out to be a nice, neat blanket for warm weather that will protect your baby from the fresh breeze.

The blanket is knitted from two types of yarn using circular knitting needles 4.5. The blanket is knitted large knitted thick yarn, it contains a variety of patterns, stretchy English elastic and voluminous braids. An odd number of loops are used on the elastic. Next comes a strip knitted with a tangle or garter stitch.

The edging of the blanket is made with garter stitch. You can choose any options for alternating patterns both in the width and length of the blanket, they still look beautiful. A blanket is not only a warming item, but also a decoration for a child’s room and can serve as a good backdrop for a photo shoot.

The pattern of this blanket is reminiscent of a patchwork style; it seems to be knitted from scraps, some of which are knitted solid, and some have a beautiful openwork pattern, while others are made with garter stitch and tangle stitch. Specific patterns can be selected according to the gender of the child and the wishes of the parents.

The edging of the edges is made using the garter stitch method, and the edges do not curl, remaining even. The thread, consisting of cotton and acrylic, is not at all afraid of the iron, and it is advisable to steam the finished blanket and iron it with an iron set to “C” so that the garter stitch stretches a little.

We used circular knitting needles number 4.5 meters long, the yarn is half wool and half acrylic. In the diagram, the entire surface of the blanket is bordered with a pearl pattern, in which the front and back loops alternate with each other. For this pattern, 10 loops are allocated on each side of the blanket. The main pattern is divided into squares of 10 x 10 loops.

In each row, dozens of knit and purl loops alternate. In the next row, purl stitches are knitted above the knit stitches and vice versa. It turns out to be a chessboard of squares of different relief. The blanket measures 60x90 centimeters and is ideal for a newborn baby.

Good afternoon friends!

Nowadays you can find quite a lot of patterns and patterns for knitting children's blankets. But this is the first time I’ve met this one in person. A crochet baby blanket for beginners will be especially easy to knit, because it uses a very simple pattern and, mind you, no motifs! Many people will like this fact; I know that not everyone likes to sew motifs.

The blanket is made using the fillet technique and is knitted as a whole fabric. The main beauty is given by the delicate blue color, and the slightly openwork pattern looks wonderful.

Selection of yarn for a blanket and calculation

Take skeins of 50 grams/150 m. You will need about 20 of them or a little less. It is impossible to say the exact quantity, let there be more, and if there is any left, you can knit both booties and a hat for the baby.

Choose the color of the yarn according to your taste and the gender of the child, for example, delicate pink for girls or blue like this one for boys.

I never recommend a specific hook number; it should always be selected according to the density of your knitting. For the specified yarn of medium thickness, numbers 1.7 - 2 - 2, 5 may be suitable.

Try crocheting samples with different hooks and determine which option looks best.

Depending on their purpose, children's blankets are knitted in sizes 100x100 or 110x140 cm.

There is no need to calculate the required number of loops based on the pattern; then I will tell you how many loops to cast on and how to crochet a baby blanket for beginners.

Crochet blanket pattern

In the source I found, the pattern for knitting a children's blanket for beginners turned out to be somewhat incorrect and did not correspond to the pattern of the blanket; I discovered this when I tried to knit the sample.

Therefore, I made adjustments and drew the diagram myself. This was my first time doing this, and it may have turned out a little uneven. But that’s not the point; the main thing is that the diagram is understandable. And it is so simple that any novice needlewoman can figure it out.

Description of crocheting a baby blanket for beginners

We start knitting a baby blanket with a set of air loops. You need to dial a chain approximately 100 (110) cm long.

In this case, the number of loops should be a multiple of 30 (the number of loops of one repeat - a repeating part of the pattern) + 4 more loops for the edge of the product.

Now we set aside the started ball of yarn (there is no need to break the thread) and return to the beginning of knitting the chain. We attach a thread from another ball and knit the first row with it. When knitting in this way, having reached the end of the row, we will understand how many more loops are needed and simply knit the chain to the desired size.

We knit the blanket according to the pattern using double crochets and chain stitches between them. At the beginning of each row, instead of a column, you need to dial 3 VPs necessary to lift the row.

The first rows will require special care and accurate counting, and then knitting will become easier.

How to crochet a baby blanket

For beginners, a very convenient and again simple blanket tying scheme is used.

First, we tie the finished blanket with two rows of double crochets. In the corners, to make them even, knit three stitches from one loop.

And the last row is a somewhat unusual, but interesting version of the binding - 3C1H above each arch and 4 VPs between them.

Such an air border is obtained.
