Chetverikov Vladimir Ivanovich. (03/16/1943-03/09/1992)

“My father was born in Moscow, graduated from the Stroganov Institute. Worked in the genre of graphics. Illustrated books. After some time he came to the genre of postal miniatures, which became the crowning achievement of his creative career. By and large, he introduced a new direction into it and made it more interesting. My father's works were in high demand and queues formed behind them, which I myself witnessed. Circulations of postcards have been constantly increasing, and, as far as I know, to date, this record has not been surpassed so far.

Vladimir Ivanovich was a talented draftsman, but he did not immediately develop his own style of "writing". He gradually introduced, so to speak, the "Disney stream", which was his idol. But the time was Soviet and it was not welcomed. If you pay attention, the depicted animals are “our” hares, bears, chanterelles. It was strictly forbidden to portray a foreign animal.

There were even funny things. The father depicted the animals sitting in the boat. And as soon as a trial edition was released, an angry letter from a war veteran came to the publishing house, in which he said that if the card was turned over, the ship resembled a fascist helmet. Indeed, with some imagination, a similarity was observed and the circulation was “hacked to death”.

In general, my father was a very cheerful and witty person ... "
