Viscose in summer: is it comfortable to wear? Fashionable, stylish and not hot: summer clothes made from natural fabrics. Advantages of fabrics containing polyester.

The range of modern summer clothing allows women to constantly update their wardrobe with bright, original products that will highlight their beauty. But, despite this choice, buying a summer dress or T-shirt often turns into a real ordeal: there are a lot of fabrics, but it’s unknown how they will feel to wear. Among such materials is the now popular viscose. Few people can answer the question: “Is viscose synthetic or natural fabric?”, and therefore it remains a mystery whether it is hot in such clothes in the summer, whether they “breathe” and how they behave after washing.

Viscose: fabric characteristics

Viscose fiber itself is unique because it is made from natural raw materials (wood cellulose) artificially. This material is also interesting for its versatility: it can look like silk, linen or wool, have a matte or shiny surface, be smooth or textured, etc. It all depends on the method of processing the cellulose. There are three main groups of viscose fabrics. These are staple (dresses, sundresses), knitted (T-shirts, T-shirts), as well as yarn from which various clothes are knitted. In summer, staples and knitted items made of viscose are most popular. The advantage of the first is the ability to slightly cool the body in hot weather. However, there is also a small disadvantage: if you sit down in such a dress without straightening the fabric, creases will remain on it. To prevent such oddities from darkening your life, choose a material with a rippled pattern (for example, with flowers) or with the addition of polyester in the composition. Knitted viscose also has a cooling effect, making it comfortable to wear in the summer. A T-shirt or tank top that is made of viscose can wrinkle quickly, but at the same time quickly smooth out (which allows it to always look like new).

In addition, summer viscose has a number of advantages over other fabrics during the hot season, these are:

  • lightness (greater than cotton) and softness, pleasant to the body;
  • inability to electrify;
  • dyed fabric retains color even after prolonged wear (does not fade or fade in the sun);
  • absorbs twice as much moisture as cotton fabrics;
  • hypoallergenic, so even children's clothing is made from it;
  • has excellent hygienic properties.

As you can see, viscose behaves no worse in summer than cotton, linen, etc. fabrics. Therefore, you can safely please yourself with viscose clothes in the summer. However, remember that such fabric can quickly lose its presentable appearance due to improper care. To prevent this from happening, do not expose the fabric to high temperatures (when washing and ironing), spinning at high speeds, or vigorously twisting.

Summer in our latitudes never comes according to the calendar: it’s hot collapses suddenly, and it is still unclear how a city dweller can comfortably dress at +30 (or higher). On unbearably hot days, the first thing you think about is what to do in the evening and which drink will cool down faster, and the need to put something on yourself seems like a mockery. And yet, if you approach the problem thoughtfully once, you will protect yourself from overheating and the problems that accompany it. We remind you what to look for when choosing clothes in summer and how to look appropriate even in the hottest weather.

Materials

We will not tire of repeating: pay attention to the composition of the fabric - this is especially important in the summer. A cotton shirt turns out to be much nicer than a seemingly sleeveless summer dress made from polyester. Supporters of natural fabrics should pay attention to linen and cotton - items made from them hardly wrinkle and are perfect for a hot day. Contrary to the opinion that you can survive in +30 only in clothes made from natural fabrics, pay attention to viscose. Items made from this material are more durable and look like new longer, behave perfectly in the wash, and, importantly, breathe well.

Form

In terms of uniform, you should focus on loose-fitting items - trousers made of light fabric or a floor-length dress will make staying in the sun much more pleasant. You should give up your favorite jeans: there will be enough reasons to wear them at other times of the year; in the heat, it’s unbearably hot in thick jeans. Fortunately, there are many summer ones: culottes, Bermuda shorts, sports trousers, as well as wide pajama pants.

Don't give up on the ubiquitous slip dresses, consider different options for skirts and shorts with lace inserts and finally buy a pajama suit - the perfect option for a loose, light outfit for the summer. T-shirts with thin straps or with dropped shoulders (again, made of lightweight materials and a loose fit) will perfectly complement the look.

In the heat, many people try to wear as little clothing as possible and choose things that reveal the body as much as possible. And in general, for your health, if you want and like it so much - why not, the main thing is not to forget about the cream with SPF. Another thing is that in a long and loose tunic dress or floor-length skirt made of viscose or silk, you will most likely be more comfortable and cooler than in a tiny sundress with straps.

Lingerie

In 30-degree heat, wearing a bodice with thick cups, heavy push up and abundant decor is, frankly speaking, a bit difficult. In certain cases, underwear can serve as an element of the look, but for such cases there are more comfortable options without tight cups. In general, the main characteristic for “summer” underwear is a soft cup of the bodice, which will provide freedom of movement. It is also worth taking a closer look at sports options, bralette models and other bras without padding. We have already read more about different types of bodices. And of course, don’t forget about the existence of such a wonderful option as no bra - as they say, freedom for parrots!

Color

Summer is the main season for all kinds of white and light outfits (a school physics textbook will help answer the question “why?”). When your hand reaches for a dark palette, remember that, most likely, in the remaining nine months, things of this particular range will prevail in your everyday wardrobe. Any variations of ocher and burgundy can be replaced with khaki or sand, dark blue is easily inferior to light blue, and the absolute king of the summer period is white. If it is difficult for you to part with black, do not choose tops, shirts, blouses of this color - wear a slip dress, shorts or a miniskirt.

Shoes and socks

When choosing summer shoes, the main criterion is probably comfort. Of course, it is important at any time of the year, but especially in the heat. You will most likely be walking around the city or park, shops or museum, so choose sandals, sandals and ballet flats, no matter how much you like sneakers - open shoes will be cooler. When it comes to heels, the fashion world today is loyal and kind to our feet: with a low brick heel, you can safely go on a long walk, and right after it - to a party. Another great option is espadrilles, with or without ties, and don't forget about gladiator sandals.

If you can’t imagine your life without sneakers, choose breathable, lightweight options. Of course, they will need socks, and they should definitely be made from natural materials. Short options are for those who don’t like socks peeking out from under their sneakers. Otherwise, you can limit yourself to plain ones, or you can amuse passers-by with various tropical prints and inscriptions.

Hats

Do not neglect a Panama hat or a cap when leaving the house in the thick of it. Perhaps the most summer version of a headdress is a boater, a hard-shaped straw hat with narrow straight brims. Light, light and universal in color, it will be appropriate both in the city and on the beach. You can also take a closer look at various bandanas, Panama hats, classic Sinatra-shaped hats, fedoras and wide-brimmed options. The main rule here is, as in clothing, to maintain color balance, namely, not to inadvertently bring the sun onto your head by buying a hat that is too dark in color, and also to choose lightweight materials such as straw or cotton.

It’s quite easy to fit a hat into an everyday urban look: a combination with linen style can be found at The Row, military and casual options at Greg Lauren, and Luisa Beccaria shows how to wear a hat with flowing dresses. Bright options are more appropriate on the beach than in the city. Therefore, the range depends on the specifics of summer entertainment. If your goal is to save your face from sunburn, you can take a closer look at visors. It is better that the canopy itself is made of a cold-colored material - this way it will heat up less from the sun.

Summer sales will begin very soon throughout Italy, which means it's time to plan your shopping. Usually, when choosing clothes, not only style plays a very important role, but also the quality and material from which the product is made. Not everyone is well versed in fabrics and knows their properties, so when wearing them they encounter various surprises. In a beautiful summer dress, it becomes unbearably hot in the summer, the skirt you bought sticks to your legs, and your trousers wrinkle after just an hour.

Also, the attitude towards fabrics is ambiguous: in the era of the technical revolution there was a craze for synthetic materials, when a white nylon shirt turned out to be a dude’s dream. After this, the pendulum swung sharply in the other direction, and we rushed to look exclusively for natural fabrics, resolutely ignoring even microscopic artificial impurities.

But today the situation has become more harmonious. It turned out that you can successfully combine natural and artificial fibers and take the best from them. It is this principle that must be adhered to when selecting a wardrobe at summer sales.

We invite you to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of different fabrics so that you can easily shop for clothes while shopping in Italy.

Traditionally, there will be a lot of summer and mid-season items on sale, so we’ll talk about light fabrics.

Atlas

This is one of the most ancient types of fabrics, which at the same time remains surprisingly modern. It came to us from the East, and its name literally translated from Arabic means “smooth.”

The effect of a smooth shiny satin surface is achieved through a complex interweaving of threads. Initially, it was only a very expensive silk satin, which became part of the appearance of the upper caste.

By the way, there were a huge number of types of atlas. For example, a maintenon with luxurious flowers on a dark or light background or a pompadour with golden garlands of flowers on a dark background.

Later, instead of silk, the base of the satin began to be made from cotton. This made the fabric cheaper. And in the second half of the twentieth century, polyester, acetate and other artificial fabrics were used. These are the fabrics used for the most current models of this summer.

pros

  • Polyester satin is durable to wear and does not wrinkle too much. Acetate-based satin is best used for figure-hugging garments because it tends to stretch along seam lines.

Minuses

  • Atlas is a classic for all occasions. However, one must understand that this is a very difficult material both to process and to care for.
  • To maintain the appearance of a shiny surface, it should only be washed by hand in warm water and very carefully.
  • Drying should be done just as carefully, as unsightly stains may remain on the satin surface (this is especially true for the most expensive types made of natural silk.

The most practical and convenient is considered to be satin based on polyester, as well as knitted fabric with a satin effect. However, it is quite hot in polyester satin

Cotton

The most common, affordable and familiar material for summer. It is made from natural textile fiber. There are a huge number of types of fabrics made from this fiber - calico, flannel, calico, teak, twill, matting, chintz, satin, cambric, chiffon, voile and others.

pros

  • The fabric is quite durable (except cambric), cheap, and paints well.
  • Has good hygienic properties.
  • Retains color after many washes.
  • It is highly hygroscopic, which is especially important for hot summers.

Minuses

  • Most types of cotton fabrics are subject to shrinkage (when washed in hot water, dried).
  • In addition, some types of cotton fabrics fade, and therefore require careful selection of washing powders and careful adherence to temperature conditions.
  • If cotton items are too dry, it is very difficult to iron them.

Chiffon

One of the most comfortable options for hot summers. This is, rather, a product of European weaving art. Despite the fact that “chiffon” literally means “rag” in French, for a long time this type of fabric was also a property of high society and was used to create evening dresses.

Now there are many types of chiffon. Silk chiffon, which is the most expensive and luxurious, is considered classic. Naturally, it goes on evening dresses or dresses for special occasions (for example, weddings).

pros

  • Chiffon is a thin and at the same time quite dense material. This is ideal for dresses and blouses. It colors and drapes beautifully. And if satin looks a little pompous and prim, chiffon is very feminine.
  • Cotton chiffon is an excellent option for light summer sundresses (say, in the hippie style), as well as for children's underwear. Because polyester or nylon chiffon has a soft drape, it is often used to make layered dresses or skirts.
  • Chiffon is comfortable in every sense. If it is made of cotton, it allows the body to breathe easily and is easy to wash and iron.

Minuses

  • Chiffon wrinkles quickly. Although, there is a secret how to iron a product made of natural chiffon without an iron - just spray it with water and hang it on a hanger.
  • Products made from natural chiffon are quite expensive

Silk

This is one of the most expensive and luxurious natural materials. Japanese is considered the best. This country produces up to five hundred types of natural silk (for comparison: in modern Europe - less than ten types). Natural silk is also supplied to Russia from Turkey and China, but its quality should be treated very carefully.

pros

  • High-quality natural silk has a very high density of thread weave, that is, their number per square centimeter reaches 130-280. The higher this indicator, the stronger and more durable the things are.
  • At the same time, they practically do not wrinkle. And besides, this fabric does not heat up in the heat and absorbs moisture well.

Minuses

  • Please note that natural silk fades a lot when washed (especially in hot water). In general, it is better to dry clean things made from natural silk.
  • In addition, wet stains on such things leave unsightly stains (these can be stains from sweat or stains from ironing, if the item is dry and we splash water on it).
  • Products made from natural silk are usually 2 times more expensive than synthetics

It belongs to the type of textile fibers that are obtained from the stems and leaves of plants, and therefore is one of the most ancient types of fabrics. Making linen is quite labor-intensive even with modern technologies, so it is more expensive than, say, cotton.

pros

  • Linen fabric is quite dense, allowing you to create both thin blouses and summer jackets from it. In addition, this fabric is very strong and lasts a long time.
  • Linen absorbs moisture perfectly and evaporates it quickly (unlike cotton), and therefore it is not hot in it, and this is an excellent option for the summer. Linen items tolerate boiling and bleaching well, but when washing, you must strictly observe the temperature regime.

Minuses

  • Linen fabric wrinkles quickly, and most importantly, it is very difficult to iron.
  • When purchasing, be sure to ensure that linen items are not sewn right to the edge, otherwise after the first wash all the seams will “unravel.”

Fabrics with lurex

Many people don’t like them, considering them too pretentious and tasteless. However, when the trends of the 70s and 80s return, fabrics with lurex invariably come back into fashion.

True, they look a little different every time, and in their production new - more modern and sophisticated - technologies are used. It is clear that in this fashionable summer you cannot do without such shiny fabrics. Especially considering that things in this style are good for reckless holiday fun.

It should be noted right away that this is not brocade. These are summer fabrics with a different base (from chiffon to transparent gauze), into which a metal thread is woven.

pros

  • Fabrics with lurex look very impressive.
  • They are usually made on the basis of lightweight fabrics, so they allow the skin to breathe.

Minuses

  • Due to this structure, such items often require lining (since the seams are quite uncomfortable) and require special care when wearing and washing.
  • Naturally, such items should only be washed by hand, with carefully selected detergents that will not dull the coating of the metallized thread. Fabrics with lurex should not be wrung out, you just need to let the water drain.

New synthetics

Once upon a time, artificial fabrics were such a bright and expensive novelty that they made fashionistas simply lose their heads. The crimplen dress was the height of all dreams come true.

But we quickly changed our love for synthetic fabrics, almost anathematizing them. And until now, many are wary of artificial materials, meticulously studying the labels on clothes.

Meanwhile, today practically no 100 percent natural fabrics are produced. Most fabrics are mixed.

This summer, designers have used the entire arsenal of synthetic and mixed fabrics. These are viscose and acetate, as well as polyamide, polyester, polyacrylonitrile fiber. Synthetic threads with a metallic sheen are also popular this season. By and large, artificial fabrics in any specialized store make up the lion's share of the assortment and, in terms of their consumer properties, can compete with any natural fabrics.

pros

  • The addition of artificial threads does not in any way impair the consumer properties or comfort of such clothing and adds new properties to it.

Thus, polyester georgette completely replaces natural crepe georgette and drapes well in airy, light dresses. And polyester organza is ideal for trendy transparent puffy sleeves.

  • They are hygroscopic, wash well, do not lose color, allow the body to breathe no worse than cotton or linen, and drape effectively. It is simply advisable to select fabrics from well-known manufacturers who guarantee quality.

Minuses

  • They can cause irritation to the skin, so the choice of synthetic fabrics should be treated with particular care.

Viscose

This is a fiber that has many attractive qualities due to the fact that it combines the positive properties of natural and artificial fabrics. Viscose fabric is produced by chemical processing from cellulose. In fact, this is cellulose, only without any impurities. Viscose fabrics can look like cotton, linen, wool, or silk.

pros

  • Dresses, blouses, and tops made of viscose fabric are perfect for the summer heat, as they allow the skin to breathe and absorb moisture even better than cotton.
  • In addition, viscose fabric is soft, thin, drapes well and retains color.

Minuses

  • Viscose fabric is not as strong as natural fabrics like cotton and linen. And therefore requires special care.
  • It should be washed by hand or in a machine on a gentle wash cycle at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees. You should be even more careful when spinning such things, otherwise they will simply “crawl” after one or two washes.

Crinkled fabrics

Crinkled fabrics (they are called crinkle or crash) came to us from the era of the 80s. When you look at modern versions of crinkled fabrics, you understand that the originals of the 80s, which modern designers are now copying, are actually much poorer and weaker than the current ones options.

During this time, technology has advanced so much that it makes it possible to create real miracles with fabrics. And designers from many leading fashion houses have taken advantage of this with pleasure this summer.

Moreover, they presented a rather interesting variety of crinkled fabrics - thin and dense, plain and with prints, with small creases and large accentuated “wrinkles”.

pros

  • They wash well and retain their texture after many washes.

Minuses

  • The peculiarity of caring for things made from crinkled fabrics is to prevent folds and creases from coming apart. Accordingly, it is strictly not recommended to iron them.
  • And some technically advanced young ladies recommend drying things in the microwave after washing to preserve the original structure of the fabric.

Every morning I wake up to bright sunshine! And in my head I thought: “Hurry to the beach! Hurry up and swim! In summer the world becomes brighter!”

As some weather forecasters predicted, summer will come this year not gradually, but all at once, that is, suddenly.

Already at the beginning of May, people will change their warm clothes for summer ones. And apparently they were right.

Now in most of our country the air temperature exceeds 20 degrees Celsius, and in some Russian settlements the thermometer even goes beyond 30.

What kind of summer awaits us in 2019?

Of course, many are interested in the question: “What kind of summer will it be this year - hot, dry, or, conversely, cool and humid, or will it just be warm?” Someone wants to know this in order to understand what kind of harvest they can expect, someone is thinking about what clothes should be purchased, and for others it is important to know about this in order to take time off from work in the most favorable weather.

Forecasters' weather forecasts for the summer of 2019 differ somewhat. Some argue that summer in Russia will not be hot and even rainy. Drought and forest fires threaten only the south of Russia.

In general, this summer in our country will be warm, but not very long. This means that throughout the summer the average monthly air temperature will be slightly higher than the climate norm. And the summer will be short because, according to some meteorologists, it will become somewhat cool already in August in the central regions of Russia, as well as in the north of the country: there will be frequent rains and the cold wind will increase.

But weather forecasters are reassuring that the weather in August will at times change to warm. True, the end of August will be cold, even colder than the beginning of this month and its middle. However, in the south of the country August will be warm, but there may be heavy rains. Somewhere until mid-September there will be sunny, warm weather, unless, of course, short-term rains and thunderstorms are taken into account.

In the Urals, according to weather forecasters, in June it will be dry and practically without precipitation; in July it will still be warm and even hot - the thermometer will rise to 28 degrees, however, the heat will alternate with showers and thunderstorms. In August it will be warm there, but it will rain periodically.

According to other forecasters, the summer of 2019 in our country will be extremely dry, which could leave Russia even without a harvest. Considering that they are also predicting an economic crisis for the country, the picture that is being painted is depressing: it’s time to run to buy cereals and stock up on crackers.

What will summer 2019 be like in Crimea?

The continental and maritime climate prevailing in Crimea guarantees a comfortable summer.

The air will warm up during the day to an average of 26 0 C, Water 23 0 C. Mild and warm weather will allow you to relax comfortably this summer and spend your vacation here.

The CenterGeology company began its work on the peninsula. At the end of 2014, we started the difficult work of drilling wells in Crimea, as well as all the related work: arrangement of wells, organization of water filtration. Having your own source of water is now a particularly pressing issue.

However, people are people, and nature itself makes its own adjustments without asking anyone. Time will tell what the summer will be like.
