How to properly cleanse the skin of the face from cosmetics. Ways to cleanse your face at home

So that imperfections do not have to be hidden under a dense layer of cosmetics, you need to properly cleanse the skin. It is on the quality of this procedure, which must be performed both in the morning and in the evening, that its external beauty and internal “well-being” actually depend. Evening cleansing will always be key - for the reason that by the end of the day makeup loses its freshness, pores become clogged, and dust particles and other impurities “settle” on the skin.

First of all, you need to make sure that you have all the tools you need for cleansing. The main thing is that they should suit your skin type. Sometimes they don’t pay attention to this at all - thereby making a huge mistake!

Remember: girls with oily skin should avoid products with oils, while owners of dry skin should not have alcohol-containing lotions on the bathroom shelf. For the skin around the eyes - it is sensitive - you need a special tool with a softer composition. One more detail: different products are needed for make-up removal and directly for washing.

When the entire set is assembled, you can proceed to the procedure. How to cleanse the skin of the face at home? The sequence of actions should be like this:

Makeup removal

  • Start with eye and lip make-up removal - it is best done with a help that dissolves even resistant cosmetics well. Remember that the skin should not be rubbed hard - especially in the area around the eyes (it is believed that here the skin is 10 times thinner than in other areas). Look for other worthy cleansing agents in ours.
  • However, in general, an aggressive effect on the skin of the entire face is undesirable - do not rub, do not stretch it, otherwise you will provoke the premature appearance of wrinkles and folds. And also - take your time: if the mascara does not remain on the cotton pad immediately, then you need to wait until the composition of the make-up remover softens it and helps to remove it from the eyelashes carefully, without injuring either them or the skin.
  • When the eyes and lips are already without makeup, wipe the face with a fresh cotton pad dipped in micellar water. After completely removing the remnants of makeup and pollution, you can wash your face further.

Next, foams, gels and other products that have a more intense effect on the skin should be used. Give preference to products containing not only cleansing, but also moisturizing ingredients - for example, a gel from the Infinite Freshness series from L "Oréal Paris with rose and lotus extracts is suitable.

Toning and moisturizing

To restore the skin's hydro-lipid barrier, which is affected not only by cleansers, but also by water, you need a tonic - choose one that will meet the needs of your skin type. A good option is the Absolute Tenderness tonic for sensitive skin from L "Oréal Paris. And don't forget about a moisturizer - you can complete the skin cleansing procedure by applying it.

Additionally - peeling and cleansing masks

  • Deeper cleaning of the skin is also needed, but it should not be done often: once or twice a week will be enough. Use scrubs in the summer (pay attention to the Infinite Freshness Double Scrub for normal skin from L "Oréal Paris) or peeling with fruit acids in the winter to stimulate skin renewal, provide it with freshness and a healthy glow. Cleansing masks (for example, with clay) - use them if inflammation appears on the skin.

  • Remember the importance of cleansing, but do not abuse this procedure - so as not to harm the skin: do not overdry it and do not injure it (microdamages eventually “pour out” into the early appearance of signs of aging).

Important: even if you don’t have the strength left to wash your face in the evening, you must definitely remove makeup before going to bed! Keep cleansing wipes on a shelf near your bed for emergencies.

Other rules for cleansing the skin of the face

  • To cleanse the face, dermatologists do not advise using soap - it dries the skin and can lead to dehydration.
  • Do not rub the skin, especially around the eyes: this can lead to irritation - in these areas it is especially delicate and sensitive.
  • If you are using a gel cleanser, massage it in circular motions avoiding the eye area. Do not forget to "treat" the skin of the neck.
  • If suddenly you run out of a cleanser, olive oil will come to the rescue - it will do an excellent job of removing makeup from your face.
  • After cleansing, do not rub wet skin with a towel - lightly blot it or walk with a dry, clean cotton pad.

Facial cleansing for different skin types

Dermatologists advise choosing a method for cleansing the skin, depending on its characteristics. For combination, dry, oily and other types, different methods and means are suitable.

Combination skin cleansing

If you have combination skin, use cleansers and scrubs with caution, as they often dry out your skin. Tonic or milk is best for cleansing, which at the same time will moisturize it.

Cleansing dry skin

How to understand that the remedy is not suitable for you? If after using it it seems to you that the skin is tightened, then the formula does not contain enough moisturizing ingredients. Set aside scrubs and soaps, and also always read the composition: it should not include alcohol.

Facial cleansing

This type of skin is the most “capricious”, since most products can cause an allergic reaction. On the package, look for the label "hypoallergenic": this is the "green light" for those who often have breakouts on their skin.

Cleansing oily skin

This is an all-in-one cleanser that everyone should have. The micelles included in its composition effectively remove makeup and impurities. Another plus: micellar water can be used to remove eye makeup (it does not contain alcohol).

It not only gently removes all impurities, but also moisturizes the skin.

Makeup remover wipes

They are easy to use and fit in any cosmetic bag. But with persistent and waterproof makeup can not cope.

All women need to know how to properly cleanse the face, because with the wrong approach to cleansing the face, we add age to ourselves. But in fact, even the most ordinary washing can prolong youth! Don't believe? See for yourself!

How to clean your face - wash your face

« How to properly clean your face? - a question, the answer to which can be put in one word "carefully". However, it is worth knowing more. Cleansing is a very pleasant and necessary procedure for our skin, but it is important to remember that it is not necessary to abuse it. Take good care of your skin, then it will remain beautiful and young for a long time!

The very first facial cleansing procedure is washing. However, more often than not, tap water is very hard and dries out the skin. Some cosmetologists suggest using mineral water, but you can also use cleansers with water softening components. Soap is very drying to the skin, so for daily washing it is best to use light foams or gels that match your skin type.

How to clean your face in the evening

Our evening skin cleansing begins with make-up removal. So, what is useful to know about removing eye makeup:

  • mild, unscented cleansers should be used;

  • if the area around the eyes is very sensitive, use products with a neutral pH value, as it is identical to the pH value of tears (about 7.4);

  • if makeup is left overnight, then painted eyelashes can break off from friction on the pillow;

  • indelible mascara is removed only with products containing oils;

  • cream mascara is easier to remove, it can be removed with any fat-free cleansing gel or lotion;

  • do not use cotton to remove eye makeup - the villi can get into the eye, it is better to use compressed cotton swabs.

It is necessary to clean not only the skin around the eyes, but also the lips. Many lipsticks are highly resistant and the dyes contained in them must be carefully removed, preferably with fat-containing products. There are special creams for removing lipstick. You can also use regular makeup remover milk for this purpose.

Having cleansed the skin of the face, do not forget about tonics - they not only complete the process of removing makeup and cleansing the skin, but also tone the skin and restore its hydrolipidic balance. It is important to know that it is not enough to wipe the face once. You need to change the cotton pad until its surface remains snow-white.

How to cleanse your face - peels, scrubs and some tips

Peelings and scrubs are incredibly important for the skin, as they not only cleanse it, but also accelerate the renewal of its cells. However, it is worth knowing that it is undesirable to use scrubs more than once a week. Firstly, if you exfoliate too actively and often, you can damage the delicate skin of the face. And secondly, frequent exfoliation makes the skin “lazy”. Peels should be used with caution for those who have sensitive facial skin.

And finally, a few tricks:

  • if you use foam, gel or mousse, then cleanse the skin with light patting movements, but not massage - the skin will absorb makeup even more;

  • do not rub tonic lotions or other facial cleansers into the skin;

  • do not combine peeling and cleansing masks immediately after it - this is too aggressive for the skin, it is better to use an anti-inflammatory mask after peeling, and finally apply a softening cream to the skin of the face.

Today is an important and very useful article on how to properly cleanse your face daily.

At least, I systematized this information for myself for a long time, experimenting on my own face ((because before the advent of the Internet and the new “generation” of books and magazines, it was almost impossible to find something intelligible on the subject of washing.

Magazine articles and book recommendations boiled down to advice “cleanse your face, apply cream…”, understandable, but how to clean? This topic, for some reason, bypassed. Why - do not know, perhaps the process of washing was not considered so important and they cleaned their faces in general, everything was the same - they washed themselves with soap.

Later, I asked friends and girlfriends how they cleanse their faces in the evening? I received different answers: I shoot with milk ..., foam ..., gel ..., soap ... such options did not suit me, I tried to wash my face with foam, and milk, and gels, but as such there was no system in this and to say that I liked the end result, it was also impossible.

And only with the advent of new literature and access to Internet knowledge did I finally discover schemes for , how to wash off makeup from the face in the evening and how to wash your face in the morning.

I share these methods with you, I hope that the information will be useful.

How to cleanse your face every day step by step

Pay attention to how many funds have a purpose - "for cleansing"? Well, yes, huge. These are tonics, and foams, and creams, and oils, and micellar water, and soap, in the end.

And there are so many of them because the washing system is also not the only one, and all these tools need to be combined with each other in order to choose the most suitable washing method.

Cleanse your face in the morning

Despite the fact that we slept peacefully at night and during this time we hardly had time to get dirty, the face still needs to be cleaned, because during the night the sebaceous glands developed sebum, and there may be remnants of the night cream on the skin, and all this needs to be removed.

We carry out cleaning in two stages:

  1. Step one - wash your face. For this we use either
  • foaming gels and foams, mousses, soaps (products that need to be washed with water);
  • , put it on a cotton pad and wipe the face.
  1. Step two - remove the remnants of detergent:

Rinse your face with plenty of water, or wipe it with a tonic.

For me, this item should look like this: rinse your face with water and wipe it with tonic.

Because: both gels / foams / mousses and micellar water MUST (!) Be removed from the face, because all these products contain surface-active substances (surfactants), which, having done their job - having cleansed the skin of the face, must be completely removed from it washed away.

That's it, morning wash is over))

How to properly cleanse your face before bed

The evening cleansing procedure is more difficult because, in addition to the same sebum and the remains of a day cream, there are now decorative products on the face: makeup base, foundation / BB / CC creams, powder, blush, etc.

And cleanly remove them from the face with the help of foams and mousses will not work because they are intended for washing, and NOT for removing makeup.

What is the best way to remove makeup from the face

Please note that most of the impurities accumulated on the skin during the day have a fatty base, according to cosmetologists, “like dissolves like”, therefore, for evening cleansing, you need to use fat-based products.

What do you need to remove makeup in the evening?

  1. Fat-based products to choose from: cosmetic milk; cosmetic cream / sour cream; ordinary or hydrophilic oil; oil balm.
  2. Makeup can be removed with non-oily products, but they will not be as effective. These are: micellar water and gel, but not foaming, but melting (melting).

How to properly cleanse your face before bed

Stage #1

We clean the face with a tool that is specifically designed to remove makeup. Necessarily.

Let me remind you once again - milk, cream, sour cream, oil, balm, micellar water.

Stage #2

We wash ourselves with a means that is intended for washing. Necessarily.

These are: foam, gel, mousse, soap (in specially designed cases).

Stage #3

We wipe the face with tonic. The item is optional.

In principle, you can stop at point number two and start applying care products, but, in my opinion, a tonic is still necessary, not only because I love tonics as a product in general, but also because you:

  • remove the remnants of not the most useful tap water from the skin of the face;
  • check if the cleansing procedure is carried out so well.

The most important thing to learn when cleansing your face in the evening:

Removing makeup and washing are two different rituals, and for evening cleansing, they are needed BOTH in this sequence.

That is, after carrying out the procedure with a cleanser, you will not be able to sufficiently remove makeup, part of it will still remain on the skin, as will the product of the work of the sebaceous glands, especially in owners of oily skin, and repeated (according to the third, etc. once) the use of foam or gel will not bring any benefit to the skin, but it will dry it out easily.

That is, you can wash your face with foam / gel in the morning or if you haven’t used decorative cosmetics in a day, but these products will not cope with makeup removal thoroughly.

The control point of the quality of cleansing the skin is the cleanliness of the cotton pad after toning the face, it must be clean, and not wash off the remnants of cosmetics.

Based on these rules developed. More about them in the next article.

I hope that I have conveyed the essence of the issue to you, if you have any questions, I will be glad to answer.

Skin beauty starts in the bathroom. You can line up beauty products with the most advanced composition and textures on the shelf, but without proper cleansing, they will all be useless. ELLE found out from the experts how to wash your face properly.

Why can't you just wash with soap?

Why not? Can. Only not any soap, but special, better natural. Any soap is not suitable - after it there is a feeling of tightness and dryness. Soap contains alkali, which destroys the lipids of the skin, and this leads to its gradual dehydration, and, as a result, peeling. Along with this, the skin loses its natural protection and becomes vulnerable to both bacteria and free radicals. Cosmetic cleansers are also not “angels”. They contain emulsifiers, which also destroy the lipid layer of the skin. But not washing at all is not good. The ambient air is saturated with exhaust gases, this chemical dirt settles on the skin and spoils it faster than any soap.

What about tap water?

Many simply wash their faces with tap water. It is good if the purest water flows from the tap. But, as a rule, the water in cities is dirty, with chlorine and other heavy impurities. They remain on the skin and permanently negatively affect its functions. The face should be washed with boiled or filtered water.

Almost all synthetic cleansers are non-alkaline and do not leave the skin dry after application. But such products may not be completely washed off with water during washing. The remaining surfactants may continue to "work", causing skin irritation. After washing, be sure to use tonics that will help remove the remnants of the cleanser and prepare the skin for the application of serums and face creams.

How to choose products for proper cleansing, based on the type and condition of the skin of the face?

All cleansers are labeled according to skin type. But here you need to look not only at the type of skin, but also at its condition. Many consider their skin to be normal, but it changes over the years. Most often, the skin deteriorates as a result of improper care. It is also affected by the time of year and the state of health. Even normal skin can become dry in winter and oily in summer. Lack of sleep and overwork make the skin dry, sensitive and dull. In order not to be mistaken, watch your skin. If necessary, use 2 products at the same time on different areas. The skin will tell you what it needs. For example, if your skin stings a bit when you apply the product, but no redness occurs, use a soothing product for sensitive skin, such as Himalaya Herbals Gentle Cleansing Milk. If dry skin develops pimples, try moisturizers for normal to dry skin to help prevent breakouts. And if your skin is shiny, thoroughly moisturize it, starting with cleansers. The more moisture in the skin, the less shine on its surface.

Can some face cleansers really be left on?

The controversial recommendation - "does not require rinsing." In addition to micelles, the cleanser contains other ingredients that can cause dryness, irritation and redness if left on the surface of the skin. Beauticians and dermatologists will recommend rinsing off any cleanser to avoid possible side effects.

Is foam better than gel?

 As a rule, gel and foam have the same composition, but differ in texture. I always recommend using a facial cleanser. It provides deep cleansing of the skin of the face, penetrating into the pores and thoroughly removing impurities. A small amount of the product is enough to provide gentle cleansing and exfoliation of dead cells. The foam is easily washed off with water and is very economical. But I can’t say unequivocally that the foam is better than the gel for washing. After all, the choice of means should depend not only on preferences, but also on the characteristics of the skin. For example, the gel is ideal for gentle cleansing of oily and irritated skin.

Should the process of morning washing be different from the evening one?

Facial cleansing in the morning and in the evening can be very different. For evening cleansing, make-up removers are needed. I recommend that residents of megacities choose make-up remover and cleansing products labeled Anti-pollution - they will rid the skin of particles of atmospheric pollution that accumulate during the day. This will help keep your skin looking younger for longer. In addition, the evening is a great time for an occasional cleansing mask. In the morning, cleansing can consist of only a cleanser and tonic. If at night there was only a care product on the face, you can get by with a double treatment of the skin with tonic without using water.

What is the advantage of oil over other face wash products?

The advantage lies in the gentle gentle effect on the skin. Not all women like to remove makeup with a long multi-step procedure. After that, many feel irritation and tightness of the skin, and they simply get tired of spending a lot of time on this procedure every day. The oil facilitates the removal of make-up without discomfort. After using it, the skin becomes soft, smooth, moisturized.

Is it possible to get by with one universal product?

One will not work, but two is already possible. The obligatory minimum is a cleanser and tonic suitable for the skin.

What is the right order to cleanse your face?

The modern market for luxury cosmetics is so rich in choice that there are many cleansing options. Representing the average resident of Moscow, I see a woman in her forties with combination skin. Most likely, her skin is dehydrated due to atmospheric pollution and air conditioning. She uses mascara, powder and gloss, and uses other means less often. For such a woman, I recommend that you first remove the mascara and lipstick with a two-phase remedy. Then you need to remove makeup from the face with Biosource Milk. These products dissolve makeup and remove it from the surface of the face. The next step is a cleansing face wash that will remove makeup and previous products, as well as remove bacteria and natural skin secretions and bacteria. The cleansing process must be completed with a tonic lotion.

Are cleansing and make-up removal the same thing? But there are still cleansing masks and scrubs. How not to get confused?

The main task of makeup removers is to remove cosmetics: from the eyes, from the lips, from the entire face. Cleansers are an essential part of your daily skincare routine, an important step in preparing your skin for serum and cream application. Apply in the morning and evening. The type of cleanser is selected individually, based on your preferences and skin needs. Cleansing masks and scrubs are additional skin care products, they are used as needed 1-3 times a week.

Is it necessary to use a separate eye product?

Yes, it's always best to use eye makeup remover first. This tool gently removes mascara and shadows, taking into account the characteristics of this delicate and sensitive area.

What is the advantage of the balm over other cleansing products?

First, the Advanced Night Micro balm effectively and gently cleanses the skin. Secondly, it removes even stubborn makeup. Finally, the gentle formula contains caring ingredients that regenerate the skin.

Often, cleansing products leave a feeling of either oiliness or tightness. How to find your ideal?

The type of cleanser is selected individually, based on the needs and preferences of the client. As a rule, if the skin is combination or prone to oiliness, then it is better to give preference to cleansers using water (mousse, foam, jelly). If the skin is prone to dryness, then it is better to choose products without the use of water (milk, cleansing cream).

The basis of the health and beauty of the skin is its thorough cleansing from environmental pollution and makeup. How to do it correctly, what cleansers exist, and what is their difference? Are there any secrets on how to properly remove makeup? And what are the most common mistakes girls make in facial care, we will consider in this article.

Makeup removal: choose the right tool

The time when dirt was removed from the skin only with ordinary soap is long gone. Now in stores there are numerous tools in which it is easy to get confused. All of them are divided into two main groups:

1. Using water - foam, gel, soap, mousses, foaming cream. They are more suitable for owners of oily, mixed or normal skin. The newcomer is hydrophilic oil, which has already won the love of many girls. This remedy came to us from oriental beauties who know how to wash their face in order to preserve its youth and beauty.

2. For sensitive, irritated skin, products that exclude water are suitable. These are milk, oils and micellar water. Facial cleansing with oil (peach, almond) not only easily copes with waterproof cosmetics, but also eliminates dryness, heals the skin.

Additional products include tonics and lotions. In addition, there are folk remedies for washing. Our grandmothers used herbal decoctions, ice cubes, oatmeal water to maintain skin health.

How to properly clean your face: basic rules

1. Use a cleanser that suits your skin type. Be sure to apply it with light strokes. No need to rub or stretch your face.

2. To remove the remnants of the product, as well as toning, use lotion. Using a cotton pad, wipe your face along the massage lines: from the center to the auricles.

3. Applying cream, if necessary.

Thorough and daily cleansing of the face should become a habit, like brushing your teeth. Never go to bed with even a little makeup on your face. In summer, cleansing wipes or spray can be added to care.

The question of how to wash off makeup should be approached responsibly. It is extremely important to choose the right cleanser. It should suit your skin type, respond to age-related changes, take into account individual reactions. It is better to do this together with a beautician.
