Dairy formulas - quality and safety monitoring SUE “Moscow quality. Baby formula Hipp (Hipp) Are there possible negative consequences

The last thing I thought about was what formula I would feed the baby. I was tuned only and only to HW, so I was not ready for the fact that I would have to urgently look for a mixture and study compositions, manufacturers, reviews, etc.

It so happened that I was not able to properly establish breastfeeding, even at the maternity hospital I had to supplement my son with a mixture, since full-fledged milk came to me only for 5 days.

The maternity hospital where I gave birth, apparently, works according to its own rules, so the children were given three different mixtures for supplementary feeding, and in the morning they could give NAS, and at night Nutrilon, of course, there was no right to choose the mixture - they gave it at their discretion. Hipp Combiotic was also among those mixtures that were given to babies in the children's department.

At first I did not even suspect that the mixtures were different. Only on the third day of my stay, I guessed that the supplement was different - the taste, color and smell of the mixture were different. From one the baby slept, from the other the color of the stool changed dramatically and wild colic began.

When I asked the nurses what formula the babies were fed with and found out that there were several of them, the secret of my son's behavior was revealed, the carelessness in relation to the nutrition of children in the maternity hospital simply killed me on the spot. It was strictly forbidden to bring your own mixture, so five days in the postpartum ward were like seven circles of hell for me.

When we were finally discharged, I sent my husband for a small jar of Hipp in case lactation was not established - I noticed that my son somehow slept at night from it. When, like other mixtures, they caused sharp colic and even constipation!

Unfortunately, I was only able to breastfeed my son for up to two months, and for the past two weeks the mixture has significantly exceeded breast milk in volume.

For us, the initial adapted mixture Hipp Combiotic 1 is the perfect blend and the only one we've tried so far (apart from the above-described mess in the maternity hospital).

Country of origin: Germany.

Available in 350 and 800 grams. Packing in cans is rather a plus for me: I think that this type of packaging is more reliable than cardboard packs, especially since even after using the mixture, they will always find a use. Comes with a handy measuring spoon to dispense the mixture.

Compound good, there are all the necessary vitamins, trace elements, as well as prebiotics for good digestion.

Palm oil is present in the composition, but I do not consider this a significant disadvantage, since in my opinion the absence of palm oil in infant formula is not a guarantee that it is safe.

I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that this mixture does not contain maltodextrin.

Maltodextrin (molasses, dextrinmaltose)- fast carbohydrate, which consists of glucose molecules, maltose (2 glucose molecules), maltotriose (3 glucose molecules) and dextrin (several glucose molecules).

Benefits of Maltodextrin:

makes baby food more satisfying;

acts as a thickener;

dissolves easily without forming lumps;

contributes to the rapid dissolution and absorption of proteins;

increases the shelf life of baby food;

mixes well with other ingredients;

low sweetness ratio compared to maltose, honey, sugar and other sweeteners (has moderate sweetness);

source of fast energy;

cheap and easy to manufacture.

Disadvantages of Maltodextrin:

high glycemic index (GI=130) compared to regular sugar (GI=65);

may cause excess weight in a baby;

most of the raw materials used for the production of maltodextrin, and this is corn, are GMOs;

not all types of maltodextrin are suitable for children with celiac disease (gluten intolerance);

depletes its own reserves of vitamins and minerals;

this vegetable starch is dangerous for babies who are allergic to corn.

The method of application is standard - 30 gr. boiled water - one tablespoon of the mixture. The only inconvenience, in my opinion, is that the mixture foams, which causes an additional risk of colic in the child. But personally, I do not attribute this to the minuses, as I have learned to minimize foaming:

1) Shake the mixture in a circle, not up and down. The mixture dissolves well, so it is not necessary to shake vigorously;

2) I use a heater to prepare the mixture, and I try to prepare the mixture 5-10 minutes before feeding, it has time to stand a little, and, as a rule, the foam disappears.

To be honest, I only tried to reproduce the preparation of the mixture exactly according to the instructions for the first three times. To the cries of a hungry baby, it’s not so easy to “warm up, cool down, top up”, so I prepare the mixture like this: pour boiled water into a bottle, heat it up in a heater, add the right amount of the mixture, and if there is time, let it stand for 5-10 minutes in the same heater. I assure you, this did not affect the quality of the mixture and the condition of the baby.

I draw your attention to the fact that the open mixture should be stored no more than 3 weeks. We are 3.5 months old, large jars 800 gr. enough for a week.

Now my personal subjective impressions: as the main consumer of the mixture cannot yet express his opinion

The taste of the mixture is pleasant, it smells like milk, I tried the half-eaten mixture from the bottle. I think it’s pleasant for my son to drink it, he especially eagerly eats it when he gets hungry

Breast milk is the best nutrition for newborns, as it contains a huge amount of nutrients. Unfortunately, not all mothers manage to breastfeed their baby, so parents are faced with a choice: how to feed the baby?

One of the most recommended mixtures for newborns are products from Hipp. Research by HiPP has shown that infants 6 months to 1 year of age have 26% fewer respiratory infections and 46% fewer intestinal infections when fed with HiPP formulas than when fed with regular probiotic-only formulas.

In our article, we will consider in detail the advantages and types of this mixture. You can also watch a helpful video on this topic.

Manufacturer information

The beginning of the activity of the Hipp brand takes place in 1898 in Germany, when a daughter was born in the family of Josef Hipp, and a year later, twins. Due to the fact that his wife did not have enough breast milk, and it was almost impossible to buy mixtures from Nestle somewhere, the man thought about producing his own formula for feeding.

Organic components in the composition of a wide variety of products are the primary advantage of the Hipp manufacturer.

Back in 1899, Josef Hipp produced the first product intended for children - these were croutons, which, by the way, immediately fell in love with both children and parents. Moms choose Hipp formulas because of their natural composition and also because of the variety of products.

How to smoothly switch to another diet?

As you know, a one-time transition to a product of another brand or another type can be very harmful to the baby's body.

That is why specially designed modes are used. Initially in the product to which the child is accustomed, it is necessary to add 30 grams of a new mixture. The introduction takes place over seven days.

Gradually, the amount of the old mixture is reduced and the newly introduced product remains.

Cooking

It is worth noting that the preparation is described in detail on all Hipp packages. It must be remembered that proportions must be observed. The temperature of the product in the bottle should not exceed 37 degrees, it is also not recommended to lower this temperature. Let the baby suck the bottle until full.

  1. Prepare the package, take out a measuring spoon, boil water. Be sure to keep tissues handy.
  2. One measuring spoon of dry matter must be dissolved in 30 ml of water chilled to 40 degrees. To prepare one serving per bottle, you need to take 3 full spoons of the mixture and, accordingly, 90 ml of water.
  3. Put the dry substance in the bottle and fill it with hot water (40 degrees).
  4. Stir the mixture with rolling movements until completely dissolved. Do not shake the bottle, otherwise the product will foam up a lot!

One measuring spoon contains 4.3 grams.

From the first days, the number of feedings should reach from 2 to 7 times. The volume of hot water in milliliters divided by 30 - we get the number of measuring spoons. That is, dissolve 2 scoops (60/2) in 60 ml of boiled water.

From two weeks to two months, the number of feedings is 5-7 times. The average dose of food per day for a baby aged 1 month is 100 ml (90/3), for a two-month-old - 130 ml (120/4). The maximum daily dose is 200 ml. (180/6). It is designed for 3-5 feedings for children aged 5 to 7 months.

Breaks between feedings should not exceed 3 hours, exceptions are possible.

Combination

Many mothers are concerned about the question: is it possible to combine one mixture with another? For example, a child is usually fed Hipp Combiotic 3, and the doctor has prescribed an additional fermented milk formula.

So, you can combine, but it is necessary to take into account the reaction of the baby when feeding a fermented milk product.

It is best to Hipp in composition, regardless of the type, brands are suitable:

  • Nutrilak.
  • Nutrilon.
  • humana.

It is possible to mix with products from other companies, but only on the recommendation of a gastroenterologist.

Did the food work?

The baby should respond to the introduction or replacement of the mixture. If there are no rashes, colic, profuse regurgitation, and in general the child feels quite cheerful, then the food is perfect.

In the event that rashes have begun on the skin of the baby, constipation has occurred, and the child is restless, consult a doctor. These symptoms mean one thing - the mixture did not fit. At the consultation, the doctor will tell you what steps to take next.

It is possible that complementary foods need to be changed, but there are times when children get used to the mixture and later feel good.

Complementary foods are selected according to the health of the baby. If the child does not have an allergy, there is no regurgitation, then the parents will choose the usual food - at Hipp it will be a Combiotic mixture. It is necessary to take into account the age of the baby.

It is advised to store packages with a dry substance at a temperature of 12 to 24 degrees, it is strictly forbidden to expose the mixture to sunlight. A great option would be a dry, dark place in the closet.

First of all, It is important to remember that the condition of the baby depends entirely on nutrition.. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the bottle. Particular attention should be paid to a jar of dry mix - the lid and the outside of the package must be wiped after each use to prevent the penetration of germs.

Name: HIPP "COMBIOTIC" BABY DRY MIXTURE 1 PRIMARY

Breast milk is the best food for your baby. It gives the child everything necessary for a healthy and full development. Proper nutrition is vital an important factor especially in the first months of your baby's life.

The immunity of the baby is laid in the first year of life, mother's milk contains probiotics and prebiotics, which in themselves are a source of nutrition for probiotic cultures and contributes to the proper development of intestinal microflora, as well as the formation of the immune system. Long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids ARA / DHA (arachidonic / docosahexaenoic) of breast milk are important components of optimal brain and vision development.

If breastfeeding is not possible for any reason, we recommend the Hipp 1 Combiotic® starter formula.

The specialists of the Hipp Nutrition Research Center have created an adapted new generation milk formula Hipp 1 Combiotic®, which includes:

  • Praebiotik are prebiotic dietary fibers (galactooligosaccharides GOS) similar to those found in breast milk.
  • Probiotik are probiotic lactic acid cultures originally isolated from breast milk. Breast milk contains probiotics, the composition and amount of which are individual for each woman.
  • ARA/DHA - Long Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (LCPUFA). For optimal development of vision, motor and cognitive functions, it is extremely important for your child to receive dcpncA in the first few months of life, since they cannot be synthesized by your baby's body on its own.
  • Nucleotides to strengthen the immune system, protect against infections and other diseases.
  • Valuable bio milk is an organic product. The best of nature for your baby.

Cooking method

When preparing milk formula, strictly follow the instructions. Failure to follow the instructions for preparing milk formula or storing prepared milk formula in a bottle for a long time can harm the health of the baby due to the appearance of unwanted microorganisms in the diluted formula.

Always prepare a fresh batch of formula before every feeding and feed your baby immediately after preparing the formula.

Do not reuse leftover formula after feeding. Do not heat milk formula in the microwave oven (risk of overheating!).

Wash your hands before you start cooking.

Thoroughly wash and sterilize the bottle, teat and cap.

For cooking, use boiled drinking water, cooled to 40 ° C. Pour the amount of boiled water necessary to prepare the mixture into a measuring cup or other bottle.

Add about 2/3 of the required amount of water (see feeding chart) to the feeding bottle.

Take the dry mixture with a measuring spoon, remove the excess with the blunt edge of a clean knife. Pour the recommended amount of scoops (see feeding chart) of the mixture into the bottle.

Close the bottle tightly and shake well.

Add the rest of the boiled water and shake well a few more times.

Cool to feeding temperature (about 37°C). Check the temperature! Warning: Please do not dilute milk formula with boiling water to avoid destroying the probiotic cultures contained in the formula.

To cool boiled water to 40°C, place the measuring cup or bottle of prepared boiled water in a bowl of cold water for a few minutes.
